Smoke and flame rushed upward from the fissure, and through it emerged a grotesque creature, stitched together with bone and magic—one of the Riftspawn. The thing screeched, its many eyes turning toward Kael. Elara reacted instinctively, her sigils flaring. Light and shadow tangled in her palms as she hurled energy forward. The Riftspawn howled, stumbling back—but not for long.

A warm, golden-red glow circled her right palm. Seraphine gasped. “She did it!” Alessia exhaled shakily. “I… I did?” Kael stepped closer, observing the flame carefully. “Good,” he murmured. “Now shape it.” “Shape it?” Alessia squeaked. “Into what?!” “A spark. A flicker. A flame. You choose. Make it respond,” Kael added. Alessia grumble. She stared at the warmth circling her fingers. The flame curled gently like a small ember, not aggressive, just… alive.
