I stretched out my left hand toward the sky, my fingers splayed wide. Shatter. The word resonated with command, with inevitability. The invisible barrier Kaelen had erected didn't just dissolve; it exploded into a shower of glittering, violet sparks that rained down over the arena like falling stars. Each fragment dissolved before touching the ground, leaving trails of light in the air.

Mateo said, staring straight at my eyes. I think it changed because I got my wolf, that’s all I said to myself, but why do I have a strange and different color of eyes. “Because we’re different” Sparkles sounded loudly. Of course we’re because who bears Sparkles as a name? “Hey, I’m very cutesy that’s why Selene gave me Sparkles,” she said, feeling so proud of herself, and I laughed. “Luna” Mateo cleared his throat that’s when I realized I was laughing out loud.

It moved so quickly that my eyes could barely keep up. He didn't change completely, but his claws were out, his fangs were longer, and a half-beast of pure rage was coming straight for Darius. But Darius was ready. He didn't back down. He held up his own half of the medallion with his other hand. It glowed a nasty, bloody red, and a shield of red energy formed around him and Kenny just as Kael hit it.

Instead, he grabbed Lucien’s wrist. The device shrieked. Lucien’s smile vanished. “What are you doing?” he snarled. Caelum looked up at him, eyes burning. “Taking responsibility.” I felt it then the bond shifting. The seal responded. To him. To us. Silver light surged outward from my chest and wrapped around Caelum, threading through him, linking us in a way that stole my breath. The being gasped. “Two anchors,” it whispered. “Impossible.” Lucien screamed as the device overloaded, cracking, sparks flying.

Or so I thought. “Now,” Kael’s voice rang out, deep and smooth, pulling all attention to him, “a Luna must be more than beautiful. She must be strong.” My head snapped toward him. What? The smirk tugging at the corner of his lips told me everything. He was testing me. Publicly. “The sparring circle,” he ordered. Gasps rippled through the crowd. The women smiled like wolves smelling blood. I froze, my heart pounding. “You can’t be serious,” I whispered under my breath.

The Moon Relic was created to recognize false bonds, and also to break them. The crimson thread spiraling between Cael and Laia begins to fade. The glowing cord pulses weakly, its light dimming with every passing second. "No," Cael growls. The thread finally frays, ten, with a sudden burst of orange light, it breaks, the force ripples through the chamber. For a heartbeat, everything goes still. Finally, the bond is gone and I'm able to look directly at Cael without feeling that cursed connection.

She was clutching my shirt so hard and that made me smile. I pulled away from her neck. The next thing I did was to scratch my wrist and let my blood drop on her wounds. They danced together as her face lit up with beautiful colors. Carmela rose, her hair elegantly flying all over her face and after a minute, she fell back on my arms. I watched as her wounds started to heal and I could feel my heart racing. When I looked back at her, she is already looking at me. Her eyes are glowing, they're gold, and I could not help but be mesmerized because her eyes are the most beautiful ones that I have ever seen in my entire life. Carmela is stunning.

She rode him faster, breath ragged: “Your realm is ours now… as is your power.” Selene rose, trailing ash-kissed fingers along the brazier’s rim. Sparks flew onto her palms; she caught them and tossed them into the air. The embers spiraled upward, showering the hall in living fireflies. The twins reached up, laughing as glowing sparks settled on their hair. “Mama,” one whispered, wonder in her voice. Kaelia smiled through tears, pressing the children close. Cyrion’s chest heaved as he neared release. “Bind me,” he growled. “Bind me to you.”

I'm not sure if that's good or bad with a new Alpha coming in to take over, but this guy doesn't look impressed. "Cally." He repeats, his lips and tongue wrapping around the individual syllables as he enunciates my name slowly. "I'm Zac." "Hi." Pulling me against him again, his breath tickles my hair and caresses my skin as he inhales my scent and I wonder if I'm as appealing to him as he is to me. "How old are you Cally?" His irises swirl deeper with the mahogany, as though his wolf is trying to come out and he's fighting to keep him at bay.
