Jax took control of his beast and shifted as he watched the drenched woman before him. He’d warned her not to run. Cain loved to chase. Disoriented, she looked up, trying to understand what was happening, and as she did, she saw a silver netting, seemingly dropping from the sky, encasing her, wrapping around her. She saw a dozen vampires, tightening it around her, and felt herself falling to the ground.

Phoenix hooked a finger at her. Cynthia clenched her fist and slowly unclenched it again. She had no choice but to obey his words. As Cynthia walked up to Phoenix, he waved his hand to signal the other weresnake to leave and close the door. At the sound of the door closing, Cynthia' s whole body stiffened. Here we go again.
