KIERAN’S POV (14) ~<>~ The key… The last time I heard about that word, it was in relation to the witches’ ancient but sealed power, but even though the term was the same, hearing Dahlia speak it now brought a completely different kind of pain to the center of my heart. Because this time, Celeste was mentioned in the same breath as the key. The same key that we all knew would unleash the dormant, dark powers of the witches. The same key that… Goddess!

Kade snorted and agreed with me. Selene was known to be very crafty when it came to arranging her chess pieces on the board. Look at all she did to bring Kade and I together and everything she did for me time and again. Then there was Dark Moon. The different species integrating. His royal Portman entered the room, and he turned to face him. "It's time, your Majesty," he said. He gave one last glance at the mirror and walked towards him. He watched his Portman open a portal to the Celestial castle. He stepped inside and was welcomed into the Grander Hall. "Welcome to the Celestial Castle, King Odincliffe," greeted the castle's Curator and bowed in front of him. "King Trevino and King Chloex have arrived." Oh, dear. Chloe did come. "Lead the way," he commanded, and the Curator turned and guided him into the Summit Chamber.

The troops grew even closer as Nya skirted across the open space toward the rise in stone where the doorway to the staircase protruded from the flat walkway. Reaching the barrier, she tried the knob and found it locked. Slate signaled for her to stand aside and then used his brute strength to force the door open. With a nod, she entered the dark stairwell, Slate right behind her. In front of her, she saw nothing but darkness--save the glowing, round white spheres that could be nothing other than a set of eyeballs. “Zans!” Nya cursed, wondering what had gone wrong. They weren’t alone after all.

The moment the Sky-fleeing Stone Key met with the chessboard formation; the grid burst out a bright silver flame. It was like a mass of soft and crystal mercury flowing and flickering in the void.

Celeste answered as she covered her face with her arm. Iowa nodded and ran to Isuzu as the wind got stronger. Celeste, alone, then took out a piece of paper from her pocket, the one Isuzu received as she unfolded it to see the number XII on it glowing a bright light. She looked up the sky to see, from a distance the nearest star pillar to see it glow brighter than usual. Celeste sighed and folded the letter back and ran to Iowa who was looking for Isuzu. Meanwhile, Isuzu walked over to their usual starting position and felt something weird going on as she started to feel whispers in her head, and as the wind got to her too, she took cover on a nearby log and closed her eyes.

Two of the walls were bookshelves fully crammed with books. A huge map of the world with its five continents was displayed on the third wall. The ceiling was a map of the sky, with hanging orbs depicting the sun and the solar system. He kept the book on the table and took out an astrology book from one of the shelves. He needed to decipher and calculate the exact date, time, and place of birth of the key. He wondered if the key had already been born and perished or had not been born yet. In either case, he had to go through a series of complex calculations that required his complete focus he had no idea how long it would take.
