I wanted to be enraged but I didn't understand how to feel about a book laughing at me. After what seemed like forever, the book stopped and laid back on the table. "'What is the secret word?"' the book said, with traces of laughter in its voice. I didn't have time for the book's games. I had less than 30 hours to train and prepare myself for the challenge. The book wasn't helping matters. I said the next thing that came to my mind. "Alizon. The gem of Alizon." The book kept quiet then flipped its pages open. It stopped at one and words began to appear on them. Once that was done, a mist of glow came out from the book.

Author’s POV “You’re going to become toothless by the time you get back home,” Vera quipped as she struggled to take the ice and vodka away from Scarlett, but Scarlett aggressively chewed on the ice. She was too furious to think straight. “Sorry, Vee, for stealing you away from your work hours. But can you imagine what those people did?!” She bellowed indignantly. “Who the hell is chairman Tate?!” She yelled, but Vera closed her mouth before she could draw any more attention to them.

I patiently waited for him to finish writing and when he did he sat closer to me. "This is 'The Race to the Crown' challenge. " He said pointing at the sequence of events which he had written in short. He flipped through the pages and ran his pen on a pattern which he had already made. Finally, Belinay was at peace again after she got to know about the challenge. She was excited and ready to show herself to the world. All of this made no sense to me though. "The Challenge of the Moon and Sun. " He said. "But why is it conducted? " I asked. Alpha put the notebook on the table and took a deep breath.

“Stay behind me.” “No,” Evelynn said, her voice trembling but fierce. “We do this together.” The fire within her answered, spilling heat across her skin, dancing at her fingertips. The creature tilted its head, as if curious, then snarled, a sound that shook the trees. It lunged. The world blurred. Evelynn thrust her hands forward, fire bursting from her palms in a sudden blaze. The creature shrieked, stumbling back, its body smoking where the flames touched. But it didn’t fall—it regrouped, circling them with unnatural speed.
