“Doesn’t look like your mate’s here to protect you.” My chest tightened as panic surged through me. Desperately, I reached out to the bond, searching for Rayne. Please, Rayne. Help me. Please. But his side of the bond remained closed, a cold wall of indifference that left me completely alone. The Alphas closed in, their scents flaring as they surrounded me. One of them grabbed my arm, his grip bruising, while another covered my mouth with a gag. I thrashed and kicked, trying to fight them off, but they were too strong.

the head of the council roared, his voice no match for Atlas, who wasn't ripping the curtains and their veil off because Aidan held his arm. "I am the Alpha of this pack; no one tells me what to do!" "That's where you are wrong, Alpha Atlas," a feminine voice spoke up this time from behind the curtains, "there are limits to your domination, and it doesn't apply to the council or other Alphas." Anger surged through him, and breaking free of Aidan's grip, he punched and pulled the enormous golden bowl out of its stand, twirling it around before flinging it against the gold-painted wall.

“I’m not sure if I can even begin to forgive her for doing something like that to me, but I’d be willing to try because I love her. “She has to get away from the rouge first though. And I’m not sure how to get the two apart. They’re oddly attached to each other ridiculously quickly. “I don’t get it either. I’m the Alpha of my pack. Everyone in that pack wants to be with me. How is it possible that the woman I love doesn’t want to be with me?” That catches my attention. “You’re the Alpha?” I ask. “Yeah,” he scoffs. “Not doing too much for me lately though.” “It can though,” I say. “See, I have a plan to pry Kole and Kierra apart. But I don’t have the funds to do so.”

My chest felt heavy, his words cut me deeply, “You can’t do this. I’ve been loyal to you, for years. I was the one that would always have your back. I fought with you, bled for -” “And now you failed.” Ethan snapped, his patience wearing thin, “You are no longer a member of this pack. I, Ethan, the Alpha of the Shadow Moon Pack, hereby banish you Marcus.” He said with a straight face, “If you are ever spotted on these grounds, I would have no choice but to kill you myself.”

“Are you telling me that Caspian would turn into a rogue wolf if he doesn't breed Tessa soon? What kind of twisted joke is this?” Viktor let out a short, humorless laugh. “Well, I don't make the rules, sweetheart.” He stepped closer, lowering his voice further. “Your goddess does. And she has bound all alphas by these silly rules, so we have no choice but to rely on her for a way out.” I shook my head with disbelief. “So if this rules are for all alphas, then why hasn't it affected you yet? Why are you still fine...” The words died in my throat as realization dawned on me.
