Charles Dickens Books Novels & Stories

"What book this is- the author and the year it was written?" It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going the direct other way... "Charles Dickens, A Tale of two cities- Written in 1859" I answered after reading what was written on the board.

“Favorite novelist?” “Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice, before you ask.” “By God, boy!” he exclaimed in glee and clapped his hands. “We have a keeper with this one!” He turned to me again. “Second favorite?” I chewed my lip for a second. “Dickens or Louisa May Alcott. It’s tough, but Alcott might just win out. Her ability to create a whole cast of compelling, lovable characters – not just one or two – is something I’ve yet to find in another writer.”
