Novel & Cerita Charlie's Place Restaurant

Charlie's place was not that far from the restaurant so they decided to walk there. They finally arrive at Charlie's. It was a small bar just on the corner of the avenue. The bar had been here for quite a while as they used to come here a lot during their university days as well. They pushed in the door to the bar and walked in. There weren't many people in the bar. They chose a table at the corner and sat down. Soon a fat man came circling his way over to them. "Well if it isn't my favorite kids around here", the fat man said with a broad smile.

He was taken aback, but he didn’t push me away either. This restaurant was completely new to my sight, so I believed no one could recognize me. Putting on a good show would be just a piece of cake. "I know you prepared more than enough for this night, Charlie," I uttered right before I removed my lips. "I can be myself, right?" Charlie looks me in the eye and rubs my left cheek. "Of course," he replies. "I rented this entire place so we don't need to hide anything, Charlie. I can assure you we can be boyfriends in this place."

In other words, it was quite a wise and clever choice for Douglas to open a restaurant here now. Douglas’s restaurant, named The Charm, was at the corner of a wide new street. From the exterior, it looked quite big, occupying two floors. The name of the restaurant suggested an artistic conception. When Charlie drove the car to the door of the restaurant, there was already a row of cars parked near the entrance and several people were standing in front of a golden BMW, smoking and chatting. Charlie recognized them. They were his classmates from college, but they weren’t close. Charlie still remembered the guy who seemed to be the head of the group. His name was Clinton Tucker and was a famous

“Unless Yesande has taken up residence in the neighborhood, or unless she’s got someone closer to home keeping an eye on things, you’re going to have to purge the charmer thing, Leo.” Jasmine picked up one of the long sticks that speared the marinated meats and vegetables on the tray nearest her. She moved from the table to the bonfire Keilor had built in the fire pit. The fire was the only light in the darkened and deceptively unprotected garden. Fireflies danced and whizzed through the rare black night, but did nothing to illuminate the six people around the fire.

“In every sense.” Nate set his jaw and stared at his plate. “We’re practically family, after all,” Felix went on, flagging the waiter. “Well—we were. Oh, is that the Sancerre? Pour me a big one.” I pressed my hand over my mouth and pretended to cough. At the far end of the table, Charlie sat with his arms resting on either side of his plate and his massive shoulders blocking the candlelight behind him. He wasn’t talking to anyone. He was just eating his steak slowly, and every time Nate glanced down the table—which was often, because Nate kept looking around like a man who felt hunted—Charlie’s eyes were already waiting for him.

“Super love this,” Taylor said with his mouth full. “Is there no seafood eat-all-you-can buffet here?” Charlie asked while peeling a shrimp. “We are far from the sea,” Taylor reminded her. “Well, let’s eat seafood in Dowel. There is this crawfish restaurant that my grandpa owns,” Charlie said. “Damn. I love crawfish.” With gleaming eyes, Taylor smirked and asked, “Did my girlfriend just ask me out on a date?” Charlie chuckled. She replied, “Yes, I’m asking you for a date. Do you have any objections?”

I point her to the nearby restaurants. “To be honest, anything is fine for me, sir,” she said. “I can literally eat anything at this point, but maybe somewhere Charlie’s allowed into.” I chuckle. “Charlie is allowed everywhere. Money talks,” I smirk at her. “Well then, I’ve always wanted to try lamb,” she smiles up at me. “As you wish,” I guide them toward the Greek restaurant. —- “That was beyond divine, thanks Mr. Cane,” she sits back in her seat. Charlie lays on a pillow beside her on their couch.

After twenty minutes, I glance up from my phone, surprised by the scenery. I had expected to see the countryside surrounding Zara’s secluded estate, but instead, we are driving along the river toward a crowded tin diner. “Charlene met with a realtor here to discuss her late father’s house,” he explains. “Is the food any good?” I grin. “I missed breakfast.” Atkins shrugs. “The burgers and salads are worth it, but I’d avoid anything with gravy.”

Everyone was reading about it with their morning coffee. Her phone rang, it was Malcolm. "Charlie ... where are you?" his voice sounded concerned. "I'm at The Deuce ... having breakfast ... is there something wrong?" "Do they have a TV?" Charlie looked at the counter and saw a TV hung above it, "Yeah ... why?" "You need to watch the news ... right now," he commanded. Charlie walked into the diner with her phone still on her ear, she beckoned Tommy and Jeremy to follow. "Could you turn on the news please?" she asked the server.

I took Charles to a small dinner. There's something I like here. The place where Charles used to go was the high-end restaurant. Charles felt alienated from the small diner scene. "If you don't like it, you can leave." Charles looked at me and smiled. He didn't say anything and followed me inside. I chose a portion of Pot Roast. Charles chose a portion of Tacos. We chose a large table to sit down at. There are only a few people in the shop. The space is peaceful with some concert music.
