Taming the Fire Dragon
Slowly, carefully, I pull my canines out of her neck, licking it closed and holding her as her body shivers against mine.
I cradle her in my arms as I brush the hair out of her face.
“Hey gorgeous. There you are. You scared me to death,” I say, unable to look away from her.
“Am I dead?” she asks, frowning.
“No. I wasn’t sure it would work, but I marked you. I claimed you as mine, because that’s what you are, Ember. You’re mine,” I say, stroking my fingers over her face.
“You don’t want me,” she says, looking away from me.
