But I also did remember my pathetic abuser of parents naming me Stella. He should try again. “Stella,” I felt the vibration of Owen's voice from beside me. “Not a newbie.” I glanced up at him, surprised he spoke for me. But he paid me no mind and stepped forward, commanding the gazes of the crowd with him. Standing right at the center, also not too far from me, Owen began to speak. “A few days ago, my younger brother ran into a major accident and was saved by a stranger who just happened to be there,” a few people checked me out. “She not only bested the warriors and my beta, she took charge with authority like a Luna.”

Liam said he wiped Lea's tears off her cheeks. "No, I'm fine, thanks Liam," Lea said, their eyes locked, undisturbed with Liam's hand still covering Lea's cheek. "Can I kiss you?" Lea said, after they met, they never did anything, including kissing. They only slept in the same room because they didn't have a room anymore, besides Liam mostly slept in Jodie's room so of course there wasn't much physical contact between them. "Why do you have to ask for it?" Liam pulled Lea and kissed her. The Moon Goddesses indeed fated them to be together as mates, it's just that Liam's special characteristics made him choose his own Luna.

the rumored Moon goddess chosen, was either the Bearer or perhaps the binder or more possibly the breaker. Castillo was the last to arrive, and the tension between him and Aether was palpable. I anticipated seeing Ceryn, to know what she's up to but I didn’t. Instead, I saw Alpha Andrew; the Alpha of Stormfang, the pack by the west. He was nothing like Casillo nor Aether, he always looked calm and reserved. Aria placed three stones on the altar: one silver, one black, and one blood-red. “The Moon’s chosen will be revealed in the Trial of the Flame,” she said.

He expected a hidden figure to lunge from the darkness and ambush him while he was distracted by Isabella. Isabella looked at him, her expression pained but calm. "I am alone, Alpha Killian. There is no one else. Your guards were already unconscious when I walked past; I didn't lay a finger on them." It was the truth—she hadn't used violence. It was her burgeoning power, the mark of being the Moon Goddess's chosen, that refused to let her be caged. "Don't lie to me!" he growled, his Alpha command ripping through the air, a warning for her to submit.

I sent a mind link to Celeste, Gabe and Lance to come to my office immediately, we needed to discuss about this fucking twist the council had me in. "I can't believe this." Celeste began after I debriefed them about what transpired at the meeting earlier today. "Isabelle is the chosen one." I know it was hard to believe, it even took me a long time to figure out. She was the one chosen by the moon goddess Selene to hold all the keys to the universe. That's why I couldn't get into her thoughts. No wonder all these damn monsters want her so bad, they need her powers for their selfish gains.

"I, Isabel Moon accept your rejection," I say dejectedly. I don't have a choice but to accept my fate, my sweet dreams are never coming to reality. To sum it all up, I feel like this is some sort of a joke to Selene who is the Moon goddess. Mating me to Wilford while she knows too well that I will be rejected - in public - and end up being hurt for the rest of my life.

Jayden blurted out in anger. Staring at him with a blank expression, Rex kept mute until Jayden sat back down with a vicious anger. "As I was saying,” He kept on. "Jaylen is the Moon Goddess chosen Alpha. He is the Moon Goddess Choice and any attempt to go against this would result to the destruction of us all. And I don't think we want that—“ Jayden growled attempting to jump at Rex, but he got beaten to it by his twin brother. "No way! No way this is really happening!" Jaylen stood up with rage.

‎ ‎She looked up at the moon. ‎ ‎“Do you really believe the Moon Goddess chose me for you?” ‎ ‎Lucian’s voice was steady. ‎ ‎“I do.” ‎ ‎Lyra laughed softly. ‎ ‎“What if she made a mistake?” ‎ ‎Lucian turned to face her. ‎ ‎“The Moon Goddess doesn’t make mistakes.” ‎ ‎Far above them, hidden beyond mortal sight… ‎ ‎The Moon Goddess watched. ‎ ‎And she smiled. ‎ ‎Because the woman standing beside Lucian—

I open my eyes wide as I ask worriedly, "But mom, how could I defy the destiny that the Moon Goddess has prepared for me?" She smiles tenderly, as she answers me, "Because, just as she gives us destined mates, she gives us the option to choose. Free will, Isabella. Always remember that, darling." Before heading to work on the Assessment preparations, my mother hugged, kissed me, and assured me that everything would be okay, leaving me deep in thought and worried about the upcoming week, when the full moon will finally arrive.

“Wait… you guys just prayed to her and she answered your call?” The woman nodded at Oliver’s question and looked up. Although it was still fairly early in the evening, the moon could vaguely be seen in the bright sky, guess even rogue worshiped that idiot goddess. “She has the wolves best interest at heart, which is why, we welcome you here… Dylan, the one chosen by the moon.” I awkwardly glanced at Oliver and cringed slightly at the lane title that had given to me. I mean what was I supposed to say to that. “You were our second gift from the goddess herself.”
