Christmas is a period of love, of happiness, of good cheer, it is a period when the whole world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, it is a period where everything looks festive, where the clothes are different, where Santa comes out for the first time in a year, where gifts are exchanged, but most of all it is a time for family. Rhea was happy, that year was extremely special, it was something she could not really explain, it was the first Christmas her Theo and Jason would spend together.

he whispered in her ear then he backed away a few steps and misted away. Damien looked down at Gretchen's worried face. He'd have to tell her eventually, but now wasn't the time.Things were in motion now that couldn't be stopped. He turned her around then started back to the fire. “So, tell me about Christmas. What do you do? How does it work?” Gretchen crossed her arms over her chest and smirked.“How does it work? It’s a holiday." Damien put his arm around Gretchen.“Yes, my love, I know that. What do we need to do to have it?”

We've only been around each other a few hours and I already know you can't make Knox do anything he didn't want. I couldn't be too mad about it though. We did just meet and in his eyes I'm a complete idiot. I mean who asks a random person to be their boyfriend over Christmas? A crazy person that's who. Maybe I was. "You do realize coming home without a boyfriend isn't going to make the world end." Knox's deep, raspy voice brought my out of my thoughts. "You'd think so." I snorted. "Every christmas I've been the butt of the 'old-lady' joke in my family."

I curled up with Chris in his bed as we watched a movie. He’s been worried about me over the past week, which I feel bad about. I hate worrying everyone. Chris surprised me with a home-cooked dinner and a movie; A Journey Back to Christmas, my favorite Christmas movie ever. I sighed as we watched, “What’s wrong?” Chris asked; I shook my head, but Chris was not about to take that for an answer. He paused the movie and straightened up, waiting for me to talk to him.

Laura chided trying to hold back her laughter to save her friend’s face. The rest of the evening was fun with the women around. Petra, left some minutes after Maria had re-emerged to return home, leaving the rest of them in the house. The women had their dinner together and even succumbed to Laura’s wish to play Dirty Santa with Maria and Aria placed in charge of wrapping the gifts for the game. Afterward, all five women settled in front of the TV with blankets and popcorn buckets in hand to watch Jean Shepherd’s ‘A Christmas Story’. By midnight, they sang a Christmas hymn together and wished each other a Merry Christmas. Laura and Maggie then distributed the

Serendipity nodded, tearing her eyes away from the structure at last and smiling into those familiar green ones. As Corey led her inside, they were instantly greeted by dozens of working elves, each of whom called out, “Merry Christmas!” which Serendipity would have found rather odd considering Christmas was over months ago were she not standing in Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole. Instead, she answered with a jolly, “Merry Christmas!” in return. She noticed, and found it rather odd, that though Corey always acknowledged the speaker, he only chose to say, “Hello,” or “Good evening,” in response, never “Merry Christmas.”

"What's so wrong with Christmas, Mr. Scrooge?" I take a swig of my beer, finishing the rest of the bottle, and shrug my shoulders. "There's nothing wrong with Christmas. I just looked at it differently I guess. When I was little, I was a weird kid. All my friends would be so excited for Christmas and they all told me how they stayed up late so that they could meet Santa, but not me. Nope, I stayed awake to try and capture the creep sneaking into my house once a year." As soon as I finish that sentence, a roar of laughter emits from all three of them.

Humming her response and nodding up and down, she responds, “How old are you?” “I turned twenty-one just before last Christmas.” I smile, but she just tilts her head. “Oh, no Christmas here?” “Sorry love, what’s Christmas?” “It’s a holiday celebrated a little differently around the world, people give out presents and families gather to spend time together, people decorate their houses with lights and have a big dinner, it’s very nice.”

Not that the words are hitting home for me this Christmas, the song has lost a bit of it's appeal. Santa Clause is Coming to Town and I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause later and I have my gifts wrapped and near the tree, since there are way too many to fit under there, I stand up and stretch. Wyatt has two more gifts to wrap, so I ask, “Want me to finish those and you can bring in your gifts?”
