The moment Ann stepped inside the party hall, she felt she was in a whole new world. The big hall was very bright because of the large beautiful chandeliers. The interior decorations were so beautiful that Ann felt everything came out from fairy tales. People inside all wore luxury brand clothes and accessories. Women’s dresses were so exquisite and their jewelry seemed to shine brighter than the chandeliers on the ceiling. Looking at her plain light yellow dress, Ann felt she did not belong here. She seemed to be stabbed by people’s stares, as if they were saying, “Who’s that girl? Look at her dress. How did she even get an invitation?”

We can scream together.” I raised a brow. “You’re going to regret that when you can’t sleep later.” “That’s why we’ll finish with a Disney movie,” Judi replied smugly. “Tangled or Frozen. There'll be no nightmares.” By the time the maids came back, the room was already transforming. We dragged pillows and blankets onto the floor, set a few candles by the window, and dimmed the lights. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it felt cozy. I was beginning to see light in Judi's idea, it would definitely have been just watching movies without the decorations.

By half past six the sky was starting to turn purple and Iryna was leading us back toward's Cinderella's Castle. "We have dinner reservations." She screamed in his ears. “Where did you learn that from?” He asked frowning. “Mary told me. There is Cinderella. I wanb Cinderella.” She said and a soft smile played on his lips at the demands of his almost 3-year-old daughter and her mispronunciation. Her birthday was the coming week and she had already been making a list of the things she want. Mary was their nanny and would read them princess stories, so when Tilly asked her where they lived, she told them it was Disney land.

I saw how Alicia and the rest of the she-wolves bowed their heads in respect, indicating the role she played in Asteria. “Tell me I wasn't dreaming,” the old woman exclaimed. Her voice was like a lullaby in my ears. I hadn't met her, but somehow, I could feel an unexplained connection with her. “You aren't, my majesty,” Alicia exclaimed. “The moon goddess has brought the missing princess home after so many years.” I was rooted in my spot, unblinking, trying to process what I just heard. Andrea said, smiling at the camera. I didn't wait to hear anything else. I just shot to my room and grabbed my phone. I was about to call my best friend when I got a call from the same unknown number that had called before.

When I finally returned to my room, exhaustion settled into my bones. I ate something light, showered, changed into my nightgown, and collapsed onto the bed. My phone buzzed softly as I scrolled, half-distracted. Then I stopped. A video thumbnail froze my thumb. Me. Younger. Small. I tapped it. The screen filled with a little girl in a pink princess costume, crown crooked, smiling too hard. “That was the day,” I whispered. The orphanage hall smelled like detergent and hope. I remembered twirling, holding my skirt out.
