I reached carefully into my elaborately styled hair and extracted a small crystal, no bigger than a pearl. The communication device pulsed with soft blue light as I activated it with a whisper of power. "I am in," I whispered quietly. Static crackled for a moment before a familiar voice responded—rough, commanding, tinged with the kind of darkness that made smart people run. "About time, little wolf. Status report."

I felt his eyes follow me everywhere, not leaving my skin for a moment. “Nipple clamps.” He replies, grabbing the thing from my hand. “Hold out your hand.” He commands, a small smile tugging at his lips. I felt unsure, my heart pounding, my ears tingling until I heard a slow beeping sound. She couldn’t recall what the stone was. The moment she touched the clip, it glowed orange, then yellow. Nikki smiled at her when the light died down. “It likes you!” Nikki smiled as she finished with the twins. “I’ll take this, and I will be paying for the boots,” Rayne told Nikki not to let Nix pay.
