Dean: “This is Kai’s symbol.” I said, looking at the drawing on the wall. It was his symbol. A phoenix. He often said that he believed that he was one. The more he died, emotionally, I mean, he became stronger. It was the main reason why he had it as his first tattoo when we were younger, claiming it as his symbol. The fucked up bastard drew it with Theodore’s blood. “Wasn’t Kai dead?” Lyov asked, frowning in confusion. “The man was shot by you.”

So we killed more than one person who was involved with the Damned Forsaken. Now I have a Ravager's tattoo of a skull with a zombie raven atop of it wearing a crown, a pistol leaning against the blood-splattered skull. The zombie raven is for the Ravager while the skull with the pistol was my Damned Forsaken tattoo, and the crown is for the Death Kings. I put my spin on it so that it’s unique and easily identifiable as a crew tattoo. I didn’t mind letting the man who trained Lachlan be the one to do the work. Plus that Drogo is a Death King and the Vice President for the Death Riders MC.

Kai’s breathing had slowed beside me. “He was proud of himself,” I said bitterly. “Like catching me was some huge achievement.” I turned back toward Kai. “There was a tattoo on his chest. Over his heart.” Kai’s body went completely still. “A wolf paw,” I said slowly, picturing it again. “And underneath it… the letters N.B.” The moonlight caught in Kai’s eyes as they darkened. “And the weirdest thing,” I added with a small laugh, trying to lighten the moment, “was that his eyes were blue in his wolf form.”

As he turned back toward her, something caught her eye. A mark on his left forearm, faint and partially hidden beneath the edge of his sleeve. When he lifted his arm, the fabric slipped just enough for the ink to show. A tattoo. Not decorative. Not artistic. Sharp lines. Clean angles. A symbol. Her breath stalled. She had seen that mark before, in Damon’s documents. The same emblem next to covert operatives assigned to missions with no civilian disclosure. She didn’t think so. She didn’t breathe. “Kai,” she whispered, her voice thin, “what is that?”

I look at him and he's peeking at me from under his arm and smirking. "What were you doing just now?" He asks intently and I smile. "Your tattoos. I've only ever seen the one on your forearm and wanted to look at the others." He sits up then, placing himself against the headboard. "Comne get a good look then." He pats his lap and I crawl over and straddle him, leaning down to look at the wolf one, my fingers tracing its shape. "That's for my wolf, Kiba." "Is he black like this one?" Nate nods. "That's almost exactly what he looks like. My artist took a few photos when I was shifted and created that for me. "Can I ask why you chose the vines and thorns on your arm?"

“This is completely new territory for me.” My eyes betray me. They drag over his bare chest, his abs, the way his pants sit low on his hips. And I feel my stomach tighten at the sight of his tattoos — ink and meaning and temptation. A yin-yang with hearts instead of dots and the number thirteen at its center, about the size of a big coin, is on his left side underneath his arm. Curling above it is the Peter Pan lettering — Sniff pixie dust and soar — in a cursive font. And on his bicep — the Reaper logo stamped on like a warning label.

I’ll never be able to drink tequila again without thinking of him, that’s for sure. I see Erik still watching me. I hand him his shirts. “Five black belts? That’s incredible. All this time you never mentioned it.” “That was a long time ago, I’m not that person anymore.” I can’t help but ogle him and he catches me checking out his Nordic styled tattoos. There’s a chariot on each pec, one pulling the sun, one pulling the moon, each being chased by a wolf. “This is Sköll,” he points to one of the wolves, “and this one Hati. They chase the sun and moon.”

“It’s time they knew the cost of silence.” And as Elias Hawke turned to leave, the camera caught one last thing: A tattoo on his wrist — a hawk in flight, split by a dagger.

Jaxson asked. "The kid was in love with that waitress. He heard her screaming in the back of the alleyway and I saw the killer... (sighs) He wasn't clear enough. He has a tattoo of a grim reaper on his right backhand and he's definitely a rogue..." Ethan further described the killer's wolf. "A rogue? But we have the highest border security on the island, plus any rogues that pass through our territory would have to have special clearance through me and Klaus." Jaxson explained.

Large cannons emitted their contents at the heart of the city, with thousands of people walking behind the casket until it was lowered to the concrete six foot hole below. Far out in the city, thousands of fans had laid out flowers arranged in a way that they formed one large lightning bolt on the ground. The casket was black and sleek, reflecting the dark sky up above which was blanketed with clouds that threatened to release their bowels down on the forsaken city. It was lowered down with conveyer belt bindings as the large blue lightning bolt emblem representing the greatest hero the world had ever known sparkled in contrast to the black of the casket.
