“You want to see predictable?” I growled, stepping toward him, my fists started shaking with the urge to knock that grin off his face.
Samuel moved between us again, placing a hand on my chest to hold me back. “Kaya, don’t,” he said in a low voice. “He’s just trying to get a rise out of you.”
“Well, it’s working,” I snapped, but I stopped, taking a step back and trying to breathe through the anger. Kai was pacing, snarling, clawing at me to let him out. But I couldn’t now.
