Fake Bond of the Lycan Lords
Behind him, Robert stops dead in the hallway, his face entirely drained of colour.
"The King," Jeremiah gets out, his fingers clutching at his own chest, right over his heart. "The link is dropping. The Lycan line is going dark."
"Get Kaycen," I command, forcing myself to stand. My left leg trembles, nearly buckling under the weight of the phantom agony. "Get Laura. Now, Jeremiah."
Jeremiah nods once, a sharp, desperate jerk of his chin, and vanishes back down the corridor.
Robert steps into the room. His hands are buried deep in his pockets, but I can see the tremor in his forearms through the dark fabric of his jacket.
