Saturday morning, I was alone in the production facility reviewing color corrections.
I was attempting to do this work solo, which was stupid, because Eli and I had built this campaign together and making decisions about it separately was compromising the quality.
But I was trying to maintain professional distance because I was terrified of pushing him further away.
By noon, I admitted the approach wasn't working.
I called Eli.
"We need to do the final color review together," I said without preamble. "I can't make these calls alone. They need your perspective."
