“Hey, Clarens! Good morning to you, too!” He smiled. For the past years I had been sharing the same classroom with him, I never saw him made a smile as genuine as what he just did. “Why are you here?” he asked. He shot his eyes onto my bag, and when he saw my comic book poking out of the opened zipper, he said, “I bet comics is still life, eh?” “Of course! Comics are the best! They are a little off the mainstream, but hell yes! They are still the best,” I replied. And that was one of the things I always loved about Clarens. He was such a joy to talk with.

I couldn't control my excitement and curiosity anymore. "Yeah, it's called Rainy days. But recently I don't know what the author is doing. The story is turning crappy and I'm losing intrest in drawing." "Oh, then why don't you write a story yourself?" He shakes his head. "I'm not good at that." "Then recommend me any of the good comics you've drawn." "Uhm..there's one romance comic called Fireflies. But it's a bit long and the plot is more like that of a manga's."

"I know, I'm obsessed! The characters are so cute." Lucien, my brother, rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "You two and your cartoons. I'm trying to discuss the latest comic book releases here." I playfully hit him on the arm. "Oh, sorry Lucien. But comics are so boring compared to cartoons." Lucien mock-offended, "Hey, comics are not boring! They're actually really deep and complex." I teased, "Oh yeah, sure they are, Lucien. That's why you spend hours reading them every day."

Coco was happy to see that the school had a comic club now. Inside the comic club booth, comic-related items were being showcased, including comics created by students and a selection of comic books for sale. Among them, Coco spotted her own comics. "Interested in buying a comic book?" a friendly girl greeted her, picking up the comic book that Coco was looking at. "The author of this comic is an alumni of our comic club. Amazing, right? She's incredibly talented and has published numerous comics, one of which has even been adapted into a TV show."

“Limited edition painting. If you wanna buy it, you gotta place a bid. Or, get them for free if you sign up for the club.” He shrugged, feeling victorious. The people were silent, unsure of what to say. Malorie stepped forward, still gaping at the painting. “You…” she began. “It’s marvelous, isn’t it?” Cain boasted. “It’s...marvelously bad!” Malorie exclaimed. “What the hell is this?” She pointed at the painting consisting of stick figures in different colors. The shapes were off, looking like an artwork by a kindergarten student. “This is comic art!” Cain claimed. “This looks as if a child drew it!” she hissed. “This isn’t how you make a comic strip!”
