She was a spoiled Beta’s daughter. When I was snooping around in the shadows I smelled the most amazing smell of vanilla buttercream. I followed that scent to the Beta floor where I heard moaning and skin slapping. I’m by no means a virgin. I’ve had my fair share of one-night stands but this is uncalled for. A she-wolf is supposed to be pure for their mate unless they don’t find them early on in life and take a chosen.

To the left of the living room is the hallway and there are what looks like one bedroom and a washroom, just like my place. Blair’s dining room is covered with newspapers, and in lieu of any dining furniture, there is a shelf against the wall overflowing with paint supplies and tools and beside it, a table which was also covered in art supplies and tools. There are two antique chairs in the middle of the newspapers and art supplies scattered on the ground everywhere.

"The sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow..." I rolled my eyes at my sister and looked at the red dot on the calendar that hung on the wall. Our family pet, a Spix macaw named Patrick slept with his head tucked beneath one of his wings, or he was pretending to. He's been known to eavesdrop on conversations only to repeat them at some later inopportune time. I guess her little ditty is a way of reminding me that the big change is about to come. It's the same month after month and have been going on for so long now that I've grown used to it.

That sobered them both. David looked away. Lauren’s brow furrowed. “Oh,” she said after a moment. “That’s… not what I expected.” Michael leaned back, staring out the tall windows behind his desk. Mariam turned her face away from the mirror without any emotions hinted in her looks, if Saadiya knew of what Omar had done then she might not be supporting him so much.
