The word 'friend', as used by her, seemed to mock me, stoking the embers of jealousy I was struggling to douse. Jealousy. It was an emotion I hadn't felt in a long time, an emotion I thought I had outgrown. Yet, it had crept up on me, a stealthy predator pouncing when I least expected it. I was jealous of Tony, of his closeness with Rima, of the trust she placed in him.

"And basically every girl wants him. You know better than everyone that you are really lucky. Who knows how many of your friends want your relationship to end because they are jealous of you?"
