She felt like she’d stepped into an alternate universe, or perhaps one of the romance novels she read where she was the heroine of the story. Mason’s hand found her thigh and his eyes burned into her as he caressed it, his hand skimming higher until he found her wet folds. He grinned hungrily as he swiped through her curls and her breath hitched. She wanted to lean back, close her eyes, and open her legs so that he could have his way with her but they were in a crowded restaurant with people sitting mere feet away from them. The fact that they could be caught heightened her arousal and Mason’s eyes darkened with desire as though he could read her mind.

To distract herself from the incessant voices in her head, she sought solace in the pages of a new novel. Lounging on the couch, she let her long legs dangle over the edge, engrossed in a new Mafia book about Cosa Nostra. Halfway through, she let out a groan of disappointment at the ending. She planned to toss the book onto the coffee table, but it slipped from her grasp and fell to the floor.

"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Wilson. Can I ask the maids to get you anything? Water, coffee, tea?" Mrs. Wilson shook her head. "No, thank you. I'm fine." Yvonne nodded, trying to keep the conversation going. "So, Mrs. Wilson, how long have you been a midwife? Is it your first time working with werewolves?" Mrs. Wilson sighed, clearly annoyed with the small talk. "I've been a midwife for over thirty years, and I've worked with all sorts of creatures. Including werewolves." Yvonne nodded, feeling slightly embarrassed by her own awkwardness. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. I'm just trying to get to know you better."

It made me want to cry just looking at it. "That's so romantic! I'm sure she said yes right away," I said. "There's no way I could have said no if someone did that to me." "Actually..." *** "I mean, she certainly didn't date any other boys in high school, but I've never been quite sure," Mr. Watson said. "There was so much chaos afterword that I never heard an answer. She looked stunned, and Ray was on his feet before long. He hugged her tightly and whispered something in her ear. She let him put the dime store ring on her finger. We all thought it was official, but I guess puppy love never lasts."

I turned my gaze to Lucien, He didn't look impressed to see the woman who currently stood in the room. With long jet black hair she wore a very tight red skater dress, paired with a face full of makeup. Her lips were Full as if she had just had them injected to make them bigger. My heart ached remembering the first time I had seen her. I could never forget the face. Her face was engraved in my mind. She was the woman Lucien had brought home from the club, she was the woman he had cheated on me with two years ago. "Told you bro" Diego said to Lucien with a grin like a Cheshire cat.
