Corrupted Chaos Shain Rose Series Novels & Stories

Not too long ago, X would’ve killed me without hesitation if I wasn’t his best friend. "I could turn you back to normal" "Wait, what?" "Yeah, I could", he started. " The shard- yes, it’s called a shard, is bonded to your essence, you soul. I know a few tricks that could make it completely dormant and drained of it’s power.” I felt my hopes rising. I could be normal again! But, the process is not perfect, you might die or, worse, be transformed into a harbinger” “What’s that?” “Corrupted souls, powered by chaos, dogs of a very ancient evil that threatens the multiverse as we know it.”

she whispered. “Looks like a trap to me,” Forty-Nine pointed out. “No… I hear… voices. Up there. I’m wondering if they’ve pulled everyone to the surface for the fight.” “Too convenient…” Forty-one’s voice trailed off as her face turned white. A hand pressed to her face. She pointed a finger. We looked. In the shadows across the corridor junction, we could see something hanging from the wall. A mangled human body. From the blue shirt, we could guess, and it wasn’t a hard guess. We’d found Forty-Eight. What was left of him.

I could tell she wanted to use that gun and I made sure I went first. I trusted her, but the last thing I needed was a trigger-happy Shape Shifter. We both held our breath as we walked slowly down the first stairwell, the voices growing slightly louder with each step. At the landing of the second flight of stairs, there was another door that was partly ajar. The instant I saw the familiar pattern of Junto's blue plaid shirt, I bolted down the steps and flew through the doorway with Claire on my heels. The scene that lay before us was nothing short of terrifying.

he tells us. “Others?” Grayson asks. “Who’s watching the pups?” “Things got a little out of hand last night,” Bo says, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously. “We’re only losing time here, Gray. With nothing else, it’s only going to get worse.” “We can help more,” Delia chimes in. Gray shakes his head. “Even with all the help your coven can give us, it won’t be enough.” I can feel the tension and despair coming off of them, engulfing and strangling my senses.

CHAPTER FOUR CALEB'S POV After I had treated the shallow gash on my head, and securely bound the girl, I went downstairs to join the boys, and drink as well. The news about the abduction was still on, I was getting irritated watching it again Coupled with the fact that the reporters were adding spicy details to the story. There was a report that we had a shoot out with the police and killed two of them. There was also one that we killed some onlookers.

Jade replied shamelessly, "Oh, come now, they've known each other since they were kids. We're together! I'll let Allen take Rosie's name if that's fine with you." She then signaled for Allen to come over, but Allen did not budge. My mother smiled and said, "I've told you: it's better for our families to not have any further dealings. Stop all your bullcrap and get straight to the point." Jade's expression turned awkward as she said, "Actually, I came to apologize. Please have mercy on us. The Walters can't take this anymore!" "Why not? But Allen must admit that he was engaged with Rosie, and Lydia has been the third wheeler all along."

*"Maybe some corner of me still loves him. And that's the most frightening truth of all." She shut the journal and exhaled. Maybe healing didn't come in swooping motions. Maybe it came in daisies, in notebooks, in quiet being observed. And maybe, just maybe, Killian Thorne was transforming as well.

Zariah The blood on my shirt had gone from wet to tacky to a stiff brown map of the exact moment I'd broken Isaiah Crowe's nose, and I sat very still in the metal folding chair and let it dry, because a woman with another man's blood down her front was a woman who had already survived the worst thing the room had planned for her, and I wanted Terrence Vance to have to look at it.

“Stay with us. Breathe.” Lyra softened her touch. “He’s fighting it. The corruption is alive. It knows we are here.” Azeriel stepped closer. “Do you need me to anchor him.” “Not yet,” Rowan said. “But be ready.” Rowan pushed deeper into the swell of unstable energy. It didn’t feel like normal northern fire. It felt stretched and torn, as if someone twisted the flame into something it was never meant to be. She pulled at it carefully. The corruption snapped back like a whip, sending a violent jolt through the scout’s arm.

Vincenzo turned the following pages, his eyes scanning each line with growing unrest, as if searching for coherence within the absurd. Nothing made sense, and as though the existing problems were not enough, new secrets surfaced, adding weight to the fragile balance he was still struggling to maintain. “Cazzo,” Vincenzo muttered, releasing a heavy breath thick with disbelief. For a moment, he ran his hands over his face, as if he could erase what he had just read, wondering what else could possibly happen to drag the chaos into something even worse.
