metal into rusted scrap. The "Stagnation" broke. The stony grass turned back into vibrant, pulsing life. The jade-glass axes of the vanguard turned back into solid, living iron. Shao-Lin fell to her knees on the pier, her liquid-silver robes now covered in moss and flowers. She looked at her hands, which were shaking with the "Noise" of the North. She wasn't dead, but she was Infected with Life. "You... you have ruined the symmetry," she gasped, her jade eyes finally flickering with a human fear.

“Make up your mind Shane, “ Cassian pressed, now standing above me. I pressed my head to the ground, trying to ignore his looming presence. I wanted to scream, I wanted to disappear from here, but I couldn’t run away, not anymore. Finally, I raised my head, looking right into his eyes. “I will do it,” I agreed hoarsely. Cassian smirked victoriously. “Do what?” “I will serve you,” I forced out. “I will do whatever you want, just leave my sisters alone.” He studied me for a moment and then he smiled. “You have made a smart decision Shane Lockwell.” The sound of my name on his lips made me feel sick. “I can’t believe this!” An elder suddenly protested, rising to his feet. “How can you bring a S

They retreat through a rift, leaving a corrupted shard embedded in the core, its void pulsing softly, spreading tendrils of chaos. The plain stabilizes, the twin suns shining, but the core’s hum is strained, the shard’s influence a shadow on the grass. Seris and Kael lower their blades, their auras tense but united, their eyes on Aelys. “She’s… the voice,” Seris murmurs, and Kael nods, his voice gruff. “Balance, then. For now.”

“Now comes the real trial!” Damian moved to her side, sword ready. Faith, Nathaniel, Jennifer—all prepared. The team tightened into one last close formation, their magic blending into a single pulsing force. And the Shadow World… struck at their hearts. ⸻ In the vision, Sky saw a vast hall—walls woven from stone and starlight, split by deep cracks. In the center… a boy. Kneeling. Bound in chains. The road ahead was unclear, and with every step we took, the stakes grew higher. We made our way through the narrow alley, shadows creeping around us like old enemies. The return of my ex-wife, my son’s pathetic delusions, the endless political warfare — none of it mattered beside her. For the first time in years, even the beast inside me was quiet. Or maybe it had only been waiting — watching — biding its time for a reason to wake again.
