I went to sleep with her talking to me and woke up to my alarm as usual. I looked at my phone and saw a message from mommy, we decided to share phone numbers last night so we can text. Mommy: Good morning princess, have a nice day. I smile at my phone, I never had anyone to tell me good morning or call me princess. I got ready for my day, putting my clothes on quickly and getting ready for my day, a nice day.

At that moment, her supposed daughter rushed into the room with a glass of the mixture I usually took for the headaches. “I am Martha, and this is my daughter. I call her little biscuit,” she replied, making her daughter roll her eyes. “Mom…” She called, stomping her feet, and making a tantrum about her mom calling her little biscuit. “I’m not little anymore,” she replied to Martha before turning towards me, “and you can call me Cookie. My mom named me that because she loved lot of cookies when she was pregnant with me, but it's a good name tho,” Cookie concluded, smiling at me.

I whispered again, voice trembling. Maren’s smile widened. “Or what? You’ll cry to your dead mother? Or maybe to your drunk stepfather who can’t stand the sight of you?” She grabbed my chin and forced me to look into her eyes. “Pathetic. No wonder no one’s claimed you. Who would want a useless breeder who can’t even shift?” Rina and Lysa laughed behind her, their voices shrill like hyenas.
