“Oh please no! Do not start reciting that ruddy poem again. I think if I hear it again I’ll just shrivel up from the inside and die!” I laughed at her reaction to what was, the best moment in my school life. We were in our creative writing class and our assignment has been to write a piece about what we wanted to do when we became adults. We were allowed to write in any style we wanted, but had to read, perform, or display our work at the end. I had written a poem. And let’s just say I was no shrinking violet when it came to performing. My classmates were in stitches and gave me a standing ovation for my overly dramatic performance.

I said, "Like we've said. When what they're doing is forbidden, it makes the story even better." "Right," Jennifer said. She was already engrossed in another story. My phone buzzed a moment later. Another brother/sister tale. For a moment, I paused. Was this really appropriate? Had we crossed the line? Five minutes later, I was too busy reading the story to care. *

She wandered through landscapes of wonder, each step a whisper of stories yet to be told, each breath a sigh of contentment and joy. As she traversed the dreamscape, Mama Hazel found herself in a meadow bathed in the soft light of a thousand fireflies. In rare instances, creative writers are able to communicate their ideas via music as well as words. As well as producing their own written works, writers often write on how they write (that is, the process they use); why they write (that is, their motivation); and also comment on the work of other writers (criticism). Writers work professionally or non-professionally, that is, for payment or without payment and may be paid either in advance (or on acceptance), or only after their work is published. Payment is only one of the motivations of writers and many are not paid for their work.

“That’s rare around here. I pulled my phone out and sent a quick text to my personal assistant. “Cancel all my luncheons and spa appointments for the next ten days. I’m going to be very busy in the gym. And call the boutique, I need new dresses delivered by tonight The plan was simple: If he wouldn't fall to his knees for my beauty, I would make him crawl for my touch.
