Creative Nonfiction Writing Prompts Novels & Stories

For Instance, you are sitting on your chair, eating a jar of Nutella with no idea what to write. Take a look at the Jar, its depth, width, material, formation and the little pieces left inside of its tasty greatness. You can write about it's sense and wonder, add a few touches of irony, sarcasm, humor or a spectacular image. By then, you would realize that you're writing about Humanity's biggest mistake or the life of a survivor. If this style doesn't work, try finding an inspiration to soothe your questions and let go of the pain and pleasure. It can be an experience, a person, a person's experience or if you're interested, it could be your own downfall.

This world was something I created over the years in my random thoughts or while reading other books and thinking, "I would have done that a little differently." I implore you put your thoughts on paper/screen. Write that poem that stirs your soul. Sing that song that brings back bittersweet memories or smiles. Creative outlets are an amazing way to purge negatives, uplift your spirit and show the world we are more than our money, status, job titles or appearance. Never stop believing that you can do multiple things at once. Be multiple things at once. You are enough but if YOU wish, you are capable of so much more. TRIGGER WARNINGS

You don’t have to say werewolves or where. But write about a what if. What if the public discovered a creature from mythology? But they weren’t ravening monsters, and they’ve existed peacefully with us the entire time? Fighting for our rights and defending the land and people. Every day I got home and started talking, whether by call or message, I opened my laptop and let my mind travel to that adult romance of my dreams. Without even having any idea about it, Flynn was helping me climb a big step of the ladder of my life, and all the inspiration he brought me was put on paper. Because of him I was overcoming a terrible creative block, and I was venturing into a non-fiction story, writing a novel I never thought I could get. Flynn was helping me, as much as in the near future he would become a painful ghost of my past, so far he was my anchor.

Most of them have some exotic tales to tell, and the others… Well, to put it nicely, they lack creativity entirely. Perhaps keeping a daily journal could assist in improving their writing and reading abilities as well. I make a mental note to myself to pick up some more journals the next time I'm out and about. A few hours later, we find ourselves sitting in front of the T.V. eating Chinese take-out with a large glass of wine. “ “So?” Chrissy begins to ask. “Please, tell me you at least got some action from the taxi driver?” She shoulder bumps me playfully.
