“Relax, big brother. I don’t have time to steal your precious mate.”
I clenched my fists, watching as he adjusted his suit jacket, his usual arrogance slipping back into place like a shield.
“But let’s get one thing straight,” he continued, his tone lighter now, almost amused. “I may have been born Caleb Kane, but I’ll die as Nathan Cross. I don’t need a pack, and I sure as hell don’t need a long-lost brother.”
He turned for the door, but just before he left, he glanced back over his shoulder.
