Crossing The Line

Nora had taken so many outfits, and I'm sure that once it's time to pay, the card funds would be insufficient. The manager would have his security see us off, and I've saved myself the trouble of trying to convince her I don't need the clothes. What even gave her the impression that I came from a rich family?
We went to the counter and while the lady packed the clothes, she told us to swipe the card. I already prepared words to comfort Nora, so I patiently swiped the card ready for the “payment unsuccessful, insufficient funds” automatic response.
