"Sorry to interrupt," Robert said carefully. "I can come back."
"No, it's fine," I said. "What did you need?"
Robert handed me the files and left.
Crowley straightened his jacket and walked toward the door like nothing had happened.
"I'll pick you up at 10 AM on Tuesday morning," he said, pausing at the threshold. "Pack for three days and Sarah?"
I looked at him.
"Be ready," he said. "For the convention. For Miami. For what happens when we're alone."
