Cryptid Novels & Stories

Beasts that thrived on what was most sacred to us, feeding on the connection the Moon Goddess forged. I hadn’t believed the tales. No one in my generation had. They were bedtime warnings meant to frighten pups into staying close to home but now, one was standing outside Trinity’s window, silver eyes glowing like coals buried in ash. Trinity gasped behind me “What is that?” he asked. The creature tilted its head, studying her. Then it smiled and lips peeling back into a jagged grin that was wrong in every way. Its voice scraped across the air, low and rasping carried on the night wind.

She removed her gloves and rubbed her face, feeling the weight of command settle deeper into her bones. On her desk lay a relic recovered weeks before from a cave near Knossos — a cracked bronze disc, etched with strange sigils. On one side: the unmistakable three-headed hound, jaws open in eternal defiance. On the other: a lion, goat, and serpent, twisted into one monstrous design. Cerebus. Chimera. Two sides of the same coin. “You were right, old girl,” Rivera murmured. Not to anyone in the room — but to the memory of her mentor, the late Dr. Miriam Vos, who had first warned that myths were not stories, but survivors.

' look. Liz said, a determined glint in her eyes. "We'll give police something to be interested in. Cold, hard evidence." I was liking where this was going. " what evidence?" I said, rummaging through my purse for sunglasses. The sun was very bright, melting my worries. " Cameras don't lie." she said, flashing a smug smile. Well, since Adams had a solid alibi of not being in the country during the attack, he was being crossed off. My suspicions were still intact. I didn't voice my opinions though.

The book totally has 60 pages, each has 12 to 15 lines. I read the book somewhat unwillingly until one line caught my attention which caused all the hair in my body to stand up immediately. "Once again I'm warning you, Heil is not what you are thinking. His brain is more active than the normal human and he can see your past once he looks into your eyes. Trust me, he is a human, not an animal. I hope my first 30 pages would have cleared your doubt." What!! Heil is not a human!!! It's a monster. I saw that with my own eyes. The book is totally shit!!

Deagan laughed, wiping the slobber off his face. “Misterio… Mist, for short.” Deagan eyed her strangely. “That’s very different, any reason?” Hazel asked and Aria smiled at the grey-eyed cuteness. “Misterios means Secrets in Spanish.” Deagan caught on easily while others remained in the dark, no one asked her to elaborate. “Well then Mist, come meet your uncle Aycin.” Aycin held his hands out and so he made his way down the table, receiving rubs and kisses. “Little attention lover, isn’t he?” Aria laughed at Deagan’s words.

“I’m blending in with my surroundings. Spring break brings out the monsters, you know.” Me, an actual werewolf who has slept with a vampire, knew exactly what sort of monsters were about. Still, “What kinds of monsters?” I asked over the music. “All kinds,” he said with a smirk. “My name is Colin. I’m a cryptozoologist.” “Rina,” I smiled. “Werewolf.” I normally don’t do that, but he was just asking for it! “Really?” he asked, his eyes wide. Hell, no. Not another freak like Rose. Now his hunter joke wasn’t as cute. “No, moron,” I giggled, and gently pushed him.

’ Trix eyes snapped opened and she met the concerned hazel eyes of Tristan. “Are you alright,” he asked. Trix nodded. “It was just a migraine,” she said glancing behind him to admire the gold panted room, adorned with beautiful and unique artifacts. One in particular caught Trix’s eyes. It looked like a bejeweled egg. It confused her a little since she taught it was supposed to be a dragon egg and why would a dragon egg have jewels on it. As she looked closer she realized that the jewels weren’t made into the shell, the were placed on it.

“If there was a monster in the tunnels, how come no one’s ever heard of this?” “Well that’s partly to do with why the church is so rich.” “There really was treasure down there.” “Not the type of treasure you’d normally associate with underground passages, but my predecessor did find a repository of immense and quite unbelievable value.” “What was it?” “A vast store of scrolls.” “Scrolls?” “Written in a language that predates any human tongue, on the tanned hides of animals that have been extinct since the Cretaceous period.” “What? How is that even possible? How could he have known they were that old?”

I never knew that this place existed in real life. Since I was young, I was locked up in an orphanage. And we aren't allowed to go out. I always wished that someone would adopt me. And that is my most regret in life. I thought I already saw rainbows and butterflies when Odin adopted me. But I was mistaken. The day he adopted me is the day my nightmare starts. I was just six years old back then when he brought me to The Ora. This is a secret criminal organization build-up of Hybrids and extraordinary beings with one mission: to destroy the world.
