The Return of the War Legate

The Return of the War Legate

Some even approached him to express their gratitude and apologies for not trusting him before. Adrian responded politely, and half an hour later, he disembarked the Titan. He could see the edge of the land in the distance. There were more than a dozen cities on Central Island, each of which was more prosperous than Leafall City and Sandstone City he had previously captured. After all, this area was considered the hinterland of Obscura.

Forever mine

Forever mine

Silas said, gesturing to the floor-to-ceiling windows behind him. Aero forced himself to stand, his muscles screaming in protest. He staggered to the window and felt his soul wither. There was no Oakhaven. There was no Blackwood Forest. Outside was a graveyard of steel and ash. A perpetual dust storm choked the horizon, lit only by the flickering neon of the Thorne Citadel—the last vertical city on a scorched planet. The "Stone Plague" wasn't a magic spell; it was a terraforming nanite. It hadn't been turning people into statues for fun; it was harvesting biological carbon to build the Citadel’s foundations.

THE DOOR

THE DOOR

Kesi shouted, pointing far across the vast expanse of the canyon floor, toward the shimmering horizon. Thousands of miles away, past the curtain of the new rain and the rising mist of the forest, something caught the light. It was not natural. It was a massive, metallic dome that glittered with a cold, artificial light. It was a city made of mirrors, steel, and glass—a high-tech fortress sitting in the middle of the dead world. This was the City of Chuma, the seat of the Sovereign Architect. "That’s where we’re going," Ressi said, his smile fading as he stared at the distant metal.

MY EX IS PREGNANT FOR ME

MY EX IS PREGNANT FOR ME

The city shimmered in the distance like a mirage, its towers fractured with light, reflecting the sunrise across a skyline that seemed half-alive, half-broken. Adrian tightened the strap of his pack as he and Lena moved along the cracked highway leading toward it. Each step was slow, deliberate, the silence between them filled with the hum of unseen drones and the whisper of wind through metal husks. The closer they got, the more the air changed—charged, humming faintly, as if the city itself was breathing. The remnants of the old world still stood like skeletons of glass and steel, some flickering with faint holographic echoes that replayed fragments of advertisements, weather reports, and

The Abandoned Luna's Return

The Abandoned Luna's Return

"If the Reclamation starts, this city—everything we fought for—becomes a graveyard of gold again." --- ### The Neon Wilds We left the royal quarters and headed toward the lower levels of the Intersection. The city was a fever dream of evolution. I saw a group of teenagers walking through a park where the trees were made of fiber-optic cables that grew real, succulent peaches. They were laughing, their eyes glowing with minor mana-traces. They didn't know they were living on a countdown. They didn't know that in twenty-three hours, their peaches might turn into binary dust.

How to Catch a Mate

How to Catch a Mate

But if they wanted our abilities it could mean war as those power were sacred and could destroy a lot of innocent lives if put in the wrong hands. "Where are we going?" “Under the city” he added. “There's warpath pathways stretched into the mountains. The lions never wanted it within earshot. And the wolves hate it, so we only use it to go to places within Panther city and to Rat island..” “Because they built a second city under ours.” I defended our kind, as any of the wolves would.

Xiao, the Soulwaker

Xiao, the Soulwaker

With that, the memory ended. The next thing she noticed, the sounds weren’t audible anymore. She didn’t know if she was just hearing things at the beginning, or if she indeed heard those, all she knew was that, something’s about to come. She could feel it. Her nervosity says it all. She felt a small tap on her skin, and was startled by it, but upon looking down, she was even more shocked to see an assistant bot. It looked like a small rolling ball with automated eyes and mouth, which she found interesting at first sight, so she named every assistant bots as ‘snowball’. The bot was looking up at her, as if trying to initiate something with the sparkle of its eyes. That’s when she realized tha

World of Tomorrow

World of Tomorrow

James laughed. Inside the Perisphere, the tour of the futuristic idealistic city of the next millennia, Democracity, was viewed from revolving balconies that formed sizeable rings suspended above the idealized city. From there, mingled with the rest of the excited fairgoers, they watched a six minute video with Democracity portrayed as the utopian vision. Designed of residential neighborhoods called Pleasantvilles and interspersed with industrial Millvilles in a mixed-use type zoning separated by beautiful fields reserved for agriculture and recreation, it was sterile and clean and promised egalitarian happiness. At the business and industrial hub of Democracity, was The Center, linked by gr

I've barely been able to put this story down. I absolutely love it. I love how descriptive the story is. And it has made me want to have been able to go to that World's Fair. It is a beautiful love story and I can't wait to finish it.

I am only to Chapter 22, but this book is Amazing so far and by far my favorite. I love historical fiction and this piece is a gem. I read the Author's book about Grace and Juliet and just had to jump right into this one as some characters are the same.

Replaced by His First Love

Replaced by His First Love

In sixty seconds, Rebirth City had dissolved into a collection of strangers huddled in a graveyard they no longer remembered building. I tried to lunge. I tried to command the automated turrets to purge the air. But the Null-Drones were ghosts in the network. Kael’s digital shadow on the monitor was a mess of shivering code, his silhouette being torn apart by a dozen geometric voids that had invaded the server basement.

When Fire Meets Grace

When Fire Meets Grace

The edges were lined with broken metal, ancient conduits, and shards of reinforced glass. Victor peered down. “Looks like an old city… buried under the grid.” “It is,” Adanna said, her voice distant. “One of the first smart cities Project Eden. They built it before the wars. It was supposed to be humanity’s digital utopia.” Victor exhaled sharply. “Guess that didn’t go well.” “No,” she murmured. “It didn’t.” They descended through a half-collapsed service shaft. The air grew colder, thicker with dust. Faint lights flickered in the distance blue and green pulses that seemed too deliberate to be natural.
