“You have always been one of the strongest of the Guardians, Reagan. Whatever you decide, I will stand by your decision.”
“Angel!” my father says, looking shocked at my mother’s words.
“Liam, Reagan is right. It’s time for you to trust her. You’ve trained her well. Her brothers have trained her well and at the end of the day, she’s a Guardian. Even without all that training, she wouldn’t need our help.”
I watch my father’s shoulders slump, knowing he’s lost this fight.
“When do you leave?” she asks me.
“Tomorrow morning,” I tell her.
