Lina sighed in defeat, though she couldn't hide the smile on lips. A low scoff had my eyes pulled towards the owner. The brunette met my eyes while raising his brow on me. It was the first time I really took in his features, I wonder what his name is. I always saw them collectively together which I assume they must have been really close with each other. I squinted my eyes towards him, assessing him before my eyes bulged. He's a Beta. But how can he produce that much aura which could go in par with an Alpha?

A body lay on the floor. Beta Damien. Rowan froze. His second-in-command lay motionless, a deep wound carved across his chest. Aria stepped closer slowly. Her silver eyes scanned the room. “This just happened.” Rowan knelt beside Damien. His jaw tightened. The Beta was dead. Aria noticed something beside the body. A small piece of carved wood. She picked it up. It was a patrol marker. Scratched. Altered. Just like the ones used in the ravine trap. Rowan stood slowly.
