The dream felt surreal and I rushed off to Alcandar's room where I was stopped as usual at the door. "Let me in!" I yelled. But the guards paid no attention to me and instead looked away. Jacintha finally caught up with me and went on her knees. "Please Luna, let's go back to your room." Jacintha begged but I ignored her. "Let me see my husband! Are you out of your senses? Are you crazy? Who are you to hinder me from seeing the alpha? Do you know who I am? I am the Luna and I could get you killed for what you're doing!" I screamed yet they didn't bulge.

The sword shot up and fell aside him. Luna looked over at her Alpha and felt felt the draw to be at his side. But first she would deal with these two. Alexandre could hear her when she mind linked so she told her quickly, “Elder Lord needs you and Alpha needs me. Help me expel of these two.” Alexandre looked at the traitors and said “Casso”. The two bitten loyalists bodies flew through the air far back. Luna flashed a grateful nod to Alexandre and rushed over to Alpha. “Touch him again and die for it.” She growled deep and dangerously.

"What did you do to make your Alpha throw you away, little Luna?" "I left him," Laura spat, anger flaring through the pain. "I rejected the bastard." Shocked whispers rippled through the group. "Impossible," hissed a rogue with a face covered in awful scars. "No Luna rejects her Alpha. The pain would kill her." "Yet here she stands," the leader said, wonder mixing with the hunger in his gaze. He circled closer, like a wolf sizing up hurt prey. "Barely. You're dying anyway, aren't you? I can see it in your eyes."

“You’re relieved of duty, effective immediately. Hand over your weapons and report to the outer gate. You’re done here.” The men’s faces fell. “Alpha, please—” “I said you’re done!” I barked. “Your negligence could have endangered not just me, but this entire pack. Get out of my sight before I forget my mercy.” They hurried off, muttering apologies. Kael remained silent beside me, though I could sense his unease. “You think it’s her,” he said quietly once we were alone. I turned to him sharply. “Who?” “Luna Shannon,” he answered. “No one else could have orchestrated this with such precision. She’s been pulling strings since the day you crowned her.”
