The man leaning casually against the doorframe was tall, sharply dressed, dark-haired with a smile that never quite reached his eyes. Cassandra’s shadow made flesh. “Dante,” Damien said flatly. Dante Westwood—alive, breathing, and standing in his office. The brother the world believed was dead. The brother Damien had buried without a body. “Miss me?” Dante asked lightly. Damien didn’t move. “You shouldn’t be here.” “And yet,” Dante replied, stepping inside and closing the door behind him, “here I am.” Silence stretched, thick with history. “You were supposed to stay gone,” Damien said.

“The biggest music record label CEO, popularly known as CEO Dante, is currently under investigation by the board of directors for fraud and embezzlement of company funds.” I froze for a minute, staring at the television in disbelief. My eyes widened as I saw his face on the screen. Dante, in a crisp black suit, walking out of his office building, with cameras flashing all around him. He didn’t speak, or even attempt to answer the reporters screaming questions at him. He just walked straight ahead with that stern unapproachable look on his face.

I gave them the most poisonous smile in my arsenal, held it for three full seconds, then turned away. “Good evening again, beautiful people,” I drawled into the mic, my voice rolling out in the way I knew made boardrooms nervous and bedrooms wet. “Most of y’all don’t know me from Adam. I tried to push him, and to my surprise, he moved really easily. "If it happens again, you can slap me across my face. I won't mind." My jaw drops. Shock renders me speechless. My heart began beating rapidly, causing a ringing in my ears. “ Drums down heart. We need the money.” When the doors slid open, I almost bolted. But I didn't. Running won't feed me or bring back my mother's jewelry. Dante stood at the windows like he owned the world which, let’s be honest, he probably did. I mean, he is Dante Moretti after all. He was wearing a black shirt, its sleeves rolled up, veins lined his forearms as well as a snake tattoo. He has broad shoulders. And an ass that could make a nun reconsider her vows. When he turned, his gaze snapped me out of lustful thoughts.

My hair was wet, and my skin was pink from the hot water. I felt clean. The door opened. Dante walked in, shirtless, wearing gray sweatpants that hung low on his hips. He held a bottle of lotion. "You forgot this," he said. He placed the bottle on the counter. "Thank you," I said, sounding shy, I hated feeling shy. But Dante made me nervous. He leaned against the doorframe, crossing his arms over his chest. His tattoos looked dark against his skin. "You look better," he said. "Less frantic."

When they were out, Alex carefully controlled Damien through their mindlink while holding him down in an attempt to calm him and bring him back to human form. Alex was not new to such things so he knew exactly what he was doing. He was able to finally calm Damien down and within seconds of doing so, Damien slowly turned back to his human form. Seeing all that had occurred, he just sat on the floor of the ruined bedroom and Alex sat with him there. Alex then asked him what had made him all pissed off that morning to cause all the mess but Damien remained mute to Alex’s questions.
