Three Days Later Daphne stood at the National Gallery. Hair pinned in soft curls, her green eyes masked behind a veil of dark lashes. Her floor-length black gown hugged her in all the right places, a masterpiece of elegance and misdirection. No one would look at her and think killer. But the blade hidden in her thigh holster didn’t care what they thought. She moved through the crowd, champagne flute in hand, like she belonged. Every sense was alert. Her target, Viktor Petrov, hadn’t arrived yet. She had time to prepare. Time to breathe.

Not after what we had just gone through at the castle. She smirked. "I'm Daphne, your designer and clothing coordinator, and this is Raphael on hair, Cassy on nails, and Symphony on feet," she said as if she were announcing the Spring Training Lineup at Cardinal Stadium. Then she held her arms out and smiled. "We're your Glam Squad Dream Team!" I scoffed. "You're kidding. right?"

Prince Roderick inquired, his voice laced with curiosity. Daphne brushed a strand of her obsidian hair behind her ear, a delicate smile playing on her lush lips. "Actually, you have nothing to worry about. I came to check on your well-being, with your brother who is also now absent." she replied, her eyes, a deep shade of emerald, sparkling with genuine concern.

After what felt like the longest second of my messed up life she gasped. I didn't need to hear more, that gasp was enough confirmation— Daphne was missing— and I was fucking right! ***Daphne POV *** I wandered a little from the cottage into the trees and stopped in a clearing that looked like a little herb garden I could smell the various herbs growing there. I smiled thinking of Sasha's pots of herbs that Danny still watered on their apartment balcony. "They never really leave us you know." a voice said and I jumped slightly. I turned to see a young woman with long black hair she wore a green sundress. "the ones we lose stay with us." "How...." I began to ask how she knew I was reminiscing about my friend. She smiled softly as she moved closer to me.

“My husband, Edward Zimmer, is not the man everyone believes himself to be. He himself has pushed forward the image that he is a saint who has only ever helped people. After all, he ran an orphanage, right? So he must be a good person.” Daphne lifts her head and looks straight at the camera, her eyes burning with determination. In an instant, her fear is gone and in its place is the spirit of the buried girl and woman who has been beat down and shoved around for year. Now, she’s looking for vengeance. And she’ll have it.

WRITER’S POV Daphne stepped into Grey Enterprise with her eyes scanning the place and her heels announcing her arrival. The lobby lights gleamed off the black midi fitted off shoulder gown she wore alongside gloves with a black hat and extremely out of place in a corporate building full of suits. The gloves alone made her look like she was going to a gala, not a business office. People looked at her, some longer than they should, but she ignored them. Her bangs covered the bandage at her temple, and she hoped it stayed hidden.

I’d seen that guarded look on people before, and it was clear she wasn’t interested in this being anything more than a random encounter. Normally, I’d be fine with that, but something about the situation made me want to stick around a bit longer. “So, you’re a big fan, huh?” I asked Daphne, grinning. “Which of my shows do you like best?” “Oh, all of them!” she replied, her face lighting up as she started listing off every single one. I listened, genuinely amused as she spoke with all the enthusiasm a kid could muster.
