I follow her gaze to see him slouched on a seat alone, nursing a bottle of whatever that is, his hair is framed across his face, making him look like someone who hasn’t had proper sleep in days. “I’ll go check on him.” Arya says, slipping out of my hands. My body instantly goes cold the moment I am not holding her anymore, sighing, I watch as she saunters over to his side and seats in the chair facing him. His face brightens up a little as he talks to Arya; of course, my Arya has that kind of effect on everybody. The door opens and Daphne works in, cheeks flushed from the cold. Typical of her to wear a jumpsuit to a party, the moment she sees me, she waves in excitement, coming over to me.

“Nothing.” A long silence stretched between them. Then, the subtle shift of fabric as Daphne moved, preparing to leave. When her steps turned toward the door, panic gripped Lyra’s chest. She reached out, fingers wrapping around Daphne’s wrist before she could slip away. “Wait,” Lyra breathed. Daphne stilled. Lyra licked her lips, her voice hoarse, barely above a whisper. “Earlier… you brought up Kyline. Why?” Daphne hesitated, then slowly turned back. She leaned in close, the warmth of her breath ghosting against Lyra’s cheek as she murmured, “Because I know a thing or two about witches.”

She spun on her heel and hurried away, her footsteps tapping the floor. Daphne dropped to her knees immediately. She hoped that if she looked busy enough with the apples, everyone would stop staring. No such luck. A pair of expensive, shiny leather boots appeared right in her line of sight, stopping beside one of the apples. To her absolute horror, her stomach sank when Griffith crouched down and picked it up, placing it gently into her basket. Daphne wanted to grab the remaining apples and run as fast as her legs could manage, but she kept to moving gracefully.

And in stepped in… Daphne! Her shoes banged against the floor like gunshots. Her eyes locked on mine, breaking up in a smile, I suddenly had a bad feeling about this.Daphne was dressed in skimpy shorts and a black singlet. Her hair was propped back in a ponytail, and she was on a set of Adidas sneakers. she stopped near the foot of the bed, hands on her hips like she was the queen of the freaking empire. She flashed Xavier a grin that was way too familiar. “Rise up and shine!!,”

“Alpha Alex, there's someone here to see you….” “Not now. I'm busy” “But….” “I said not now!” I barked. The girl flinched and retreated. “Alex” a soft, familiar voice called. My back stilled. “Daphne?” came Amber's surprised voice, confirming my suspicion. I turned slowly and met Daphne's eyes. Her smile widened as she walked into the room, her jet black hair bouncing with each step. She looked just as I remembered her in high school. Tall, graceful and beautiful.

Daphne hastened her step as soon as she was in a darker part of the alley, she had been having the feeling that someone had been following her as soon as she left the pub and her instinct continued to tell her not to stay and find out who the person was because it was dangerous. She ran and took another corner but she was stopped by something and before she could react, she was punched in the stomach and sent sprawling on the floor. She hated combat the most, she preferred when she wielded her magic so she tried to gather some energy from around her but she found out that she couldn’t do anything of the sort.

"Do me a favor and get my grimoire from the table over there, Kalyssa." In her suite, Daphne quickly took candles from the shelf and placed them on the table, along with a ceramic bowl. I nodded, setting her grimoire gingerly on the table. "Now, take the hair out of his hairbrush." She started lighting the candles. I did as she asked and soon had a few strands of his hair. "What do I do with them?"

He mumbled. The sorceress ignored him and went straight towards my mate. Sammy stood next to Savy, both of them looking at Daphne with a curiosity. I sighed. “This is Daphne, the pack sorceress and my good friend. Daphne, this is my mate, Savy and Caleb’s mate, Sammy.” I introduced them. My advisor looked at both of them with raised eyebrows, tilting her head to the side. “It's nice to meet you.” Savy said with a smile, giving Daphne her hand to shake.

Eleanor skid to the side, rolled, and kept running to avoid the sneaking Daphne. It wasn't time to face her. Not yet. She got to the tree and slapped it. All the branches twisted inwards and tore straight through the body of the mind manipulating witch that sat on it. Just then, amidst the battle sounds and clashing of blades, she heard a slashing sound too close to her. She turned and locked eyes with Daphne. Their gazes locked for a few seconds, then Daphne spat up blood..... And her head fell off her body, severed. With wide eyes, Eleanor rose her eyes to meet with the cold ones behind Daphne's still erect body.
