Daphne’s POV I laid on the bed watching a movie as Andrew had advised, being too focused on the revenge plan isn’t good for my mental health. As much as I hated them, I didn’t want to lose myself to vengeance…I still wanted a portion of myself to be kept alive. The FL in the movie was an example of the sweet part…Daphne Lycanster was an example of a naive and sweet girl, that’s what Andrew wanted me to preserve.

In front of her, Griffith’s eyes lifted from the floor and landed directly on her, catching the change in her posture. Daphne tried not to react to the sharp hurt blooming in her chest. Storm could do whatever he wanted now, and so could she. But she couldn’t stop the pain that crippled her every time he crossed her mind.

He’d expected to have to coax her onto the dance floor, to drag her away from her tendency to sit back and watch the world from behind a glass. But once the music caught her, Daphne leaned into it. She was wild on the dance floor—abandoning her usual strict economy of movement for something more reckless and free. Her hair slid loose around her face as she spun away and then back toward him, all hips and elbows and laughter. He liked her like this. Unguarded and free, at least for a few songs.

He growled, thrusts growing erratic, chasing his own release. With a final, guttural curse, he spilled inside her, hips jerking as pleasure consumed him. They collapsed against each other, breathless, the storm outside raging in harmony with their chaos. For a moment, silence. Only their ragged breathing filled the space.
