“I love keeping you alive,” she muttered, brushing a bit of ash from his collar. “You’re not allowed to die. Not like that. Not ever.”
His eyes opened again, tired, but clearer now. “Not planning on it. But if I do, I’m haunting Rain.”
Rain gasped. “You’d better. I’ve got a ghost espresso machine waiting.”
Then something else happened. More enemies showed up. At first I thought I was seeing and hearing things.
