He continued cursing me. After a minute, the room finally became quiet. I closed my eyes to rest, but suddenly recalled my history with David. It was a deeply humiliating love story. I first met David through a friend's introduction.

"How does it feel to be helpless?" "W-what do you want from me?" She almost yelled. "I'm here to hear story. Yours and Pa's story." David sat down on the couch asking her to sit down also. She did as told. "Tell me everything. I want to know." "How do you know where I live." She asked. David breathed loudly and closed his eyes, after few seconds he smiled eyes still closed and raised his right hand's index finger whose nail popped out quickly sharp and shiny. "That's not the answer to my question, it's a story of some other time." He said dragging his nail over the leather of the couch, touring it. "Start talking."

From betrayal and trauma and near-tragedy. But also from love. From choice. From fighting for each other when it would have been easier to give up. "Daddy?" David looked up at me with big eyes. "Tell us a story." "What kind of story?" "A love story!" Diane demanded. I looked at Elara. She smiled. Nodded. "Okay," I said. "Once upon a time, there was a man who thought he had everything. A big company. A big house. Lots of money."

Next, Leticia asked David about the places he visited and the cultures he experienced. David combined his experiences from the Milky Way and the Star Kingdom to make up some stories for her. This piqued Leticia and Zion’s curiosity immediately. They were enthralled by David’s stories. This was especially so for little Zion. He was only about ten years old, and one could say that he had almost no life experience. David’s stories were full of color and excitement. They had opened up Zion’s imagination of the world. He ended up happily referring to David as ‘Dave’.

His empire stretched over the globe and David was highly successful. From his first marriage, he obtained only one child, a girl called Mary. An unoriginal name if you ask me, but David’s wife was highly religious and wanted nothing more than to name her daughter after one of the most famous figures in the origin story of Christianity. Unfortunately so for David, as he desperately wanted a son to hand over the business to – he was a conservative man.
