Danica POV I tied my hair into a tight bun. A suggestion from Mrs. B at the dress shop. Next, I took the time to apply my makeup. Dmitry had a box from MAC delivered two days ago. It was full of things I never tried. Mascara. Eye Liner. Lip Liner. It was a world I never experienced. The most makeup I’ve worn included Lip gloss, lipstick, and foundation. Foundation mostly for the bruises. None of it was as fancy as anything in this box.

Before we knew it, the moment had come for slower thinking in that soothing amber glow. As I enjoy the soothing breezes brushing my skin through my window and bathe in the symphony of crickets, I feel the tranquil spirit of nature wash over me. When we start getting ready, I feel fully at ease. Delila applies makeup on my face, concealing the dark circles beneath my eyes and the paleness of my skin from the restless night of weeping. She assists me in applying red lipstick and blush in an attempt to make me appear more vibrant and less pale as if I am ill.

I nodded and smiled at her. “Thank you for always standing up for me” and Keisha smiled. “Common, take a look at my masterpiece, trust me you'll be a walking temptation tonight, you won't even remember that bitch” I laughed and stood up to look at the makeup. I was totally in awe of how light and fragile it made my face look. The blush made my green jade eyes stand out. “What the hell did you use, I look so glassy and I feel like I'm going to break if I touch my face” I said and Keisha chuckled.

She brushed soft pink powder on my cheeks to give me a natural, healthy glow. For my eyes, she used dark charcoal shadow on the lids, blending it carefully to make my eyes look bigger. My lashes became long and dark after she applied the mascara. On my lips, she used a deep rose-red color that made them look full and bold. Every stroke of her hands was gentle and I watched quietly in the small mirror as my face transformed.

“That dress looks insane on you!” Daphne blushes, but I can tell that she’s pleased as she gives a tiny ironic curtsey. “Daphne Designs, of course,” she says, waving a hand down to gesture to the expanse of the sleeveless dress that hugs her every curve all the way down to the intricately pleated skirt, which flares out at her hips and spreads around her, all the way to the ground. It’s just a few shades darker red than her hair, which I never realized would look so good until I see it now in person.

She looked at me expectantly, waiting for my response. Lucy chimed in again, her enthusiasm infectious. "Yes, you should dye it! Black would be stunning on you. It's a bold, sleek look that would completely transform your appearance." She paused, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's the perfect color for you, trust me." I hesitated, still unsure, but Lucy's conviction was starting to win me over. Despite my reservations about her, maybe she was right. Maybe I did need a change. A new look couldn't hurt, could it? I thought, weighing my options.

She texted him for the location and then blocked him again. It's currently 5 pm and they agreed or should I say, she decided that the time would be 7 pm. She still has two hours to prepare. She convinced herself that she's not preparing just for Calix to choose her instead of the other girl. She's preparing so that Calix wouldn't see the sadness in her eyes. She wants him to think that it's not affecting her. She put on a simple yet elegant make- up. She used pastel aesthetic colors for her eye shadow. A light pink color for her blush and of course, highlighter. She created a gradient lips. A lighter color for the base and darker color for gradient.

Or at least I don't think it did. "Right, I get it. It's not supposed to make you glow. It's supposed to perfect your base. I think that means skin. You have perfect skin anyway. So next we need blush, that's..." he paused searching through the pile of shower stuff. "This stuff." He grabbed a pink circular disc. "It says you apply it with a brush, so I guess that's this," he picked up a fluffy brush. "And you use it to add color to your cheeks or shape your face. I like the shape of your face." I nodded. I'd never really thought about the shape of my face. It never occurred to me you could change the shape of your face.

“I believe we need a darker colour. Ruby Red seems flashy. Don't you think?” I opened my mouth to tell him exactly why I chose the colour, but Dashiell beat me to it. “Not if we balance it correctly. We can use Ruby red for accents, like table runners, flower arrangements, or even a signature cocktail. That way, it enhances the overall aesthetic without overwhelming it. We can make it work if we approach it maturely, like Nova pointed out."

Even if my eyes were open, I could still see her vividly. I arranged my pallet until everything was set, the only thing left to do is to get the brush and strike it in different ways to present her perfectly. White, Yellow Ochre, and Cadmium Red were inviting me, just by looking at them I knew I'd get her complexion seamlessly. Her skin is fair and glossy, like white sand radiating under the heat of the afternoon sun, or almonds blanched and then peeled. I'll add Cerulean for her blush.
