This wasn’t just another meeting it was the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
I entered his office quietly, catching sight of Mr. Harrington engrossed in paperwork behind his grand desk. He looked up the moment I stepped in, his face lighting up with a genuine smile.
“Good afternoon, Mr. Harrington,” I said automatically, then immediately caught myself. My cheeks flushed with embarrassment. “I mean… sorry, Dad.”
He chuckled, his smile never wavering. “Take your time, Evelyn. Slowly, slowly you’ll get there. These things take time, but trust me, everything will fall into place naturally.”
