Kael dropped beside me on my other side and his hand gripped mine tightly. “You scared me.” My chest ached hearing that. “I tried to fight…” “I know,” he said quickly. “You did good.” More fighting erupted behind us and a warrior lunged toward Serena but she lifted her hand and the man flew across the room violently and crashed into stone and he died instantly. Everyone froze, even Darius and Kael. The air changed again, power pulses around Serena harder now. It was dark and dangerous and my body reacted immediately. Pain shot through my chest and I gasped sharply.

I spat at him while I shook with anger this time and that made him snicker. “Do you mean the alpha Damon that I shot about ten times and watched him bleed to his death? Sweet Jenny, your alpha Damon is dead. Stop being so delusional and accept it. No one is coming to save you” he said as he ran his forefinger down the side of my face again and I shook his finger off my face before I glared at him while breathing shakily. “You son of a bitch! I’m going to kill you myself if he is really dead so don’t think you have won, this is not the end” I screamed at him with all the anger in me and all he did was laugh. That only made me angrier.

Tony smirks down at me, all powerless and pretty and blue and wonderful. “I think I’m going to stick with this one,” I say, pointing at my boyfriend with my thumb. “He’s better looking.” Death goes still for a moment. Just long enough for me to smirk at him. Chaos breaks free as the God of Death roars his rage, thrusting out a hand towards me and unleashing his power in an unending, roiling wave of black. I grit my teeth, throwing up what shield I can and grabbing Anton by his shirt, hauling him down behind my flimsy barrier just as the wave of raw power crashes down upon us.

I replied. "Did you really do that, or were you defeated?" "That’s an insult; I can never be defeated; Brenda dies; the great Alune and many other subjects I didn’t even recognize; it was bloody; I couldn’t watch my subject continue dying," I responded lightly. I closed my eyes, ready to face the death that was about to come, but I never heard the gunshot. Instead, something shifted in the room—a cold, icy wind seemed to blow in, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Daphne’s father trembling, but he wasn’t looking at me anymore.

We didn't talk as he finished washing the blood off my face , staring into my eyes with the concern of an father. "Daddy I killed someone, I tore them apart and didn't even realize I was doing it. I'm a murderer" I sobbed out . I know he was trying to hurt me ,even kill me but I still felt so bad about taking someones life. In the shifter world killing each other in battle wasn't as big a deal from what I had been told but I didn't grow up in that life and it was a big deal to me.

He died in his hands. "You killed him!" I roared at Delmar, whose sneer was getting wider. "You killed my only warrior!" I was fuming in anger that the smoke inside me blasted like a volcano.
