Back at her luxurious hotel suite, Delilah sipped champagne, confident and smug. She stood before the mirror, admiring the crimson dress she’d chosen symbolic, dramatic, unforgettable. “She’ll crumble,” she muttered to herself. “They both will.” Just as she lifted her glass again, her tablet buzzed. A single message blinked on the screen. "Nice try. See you in court. H.F." She froze. Another notification appeared this time a link. She clicked.

I feel compelled to be friendly to her, even though I don’t know her. “Oh, silly me.” When she laughs and sets down her bag, which looks like an old school doctor’s bag. I can’t help but think her laugh sounds like bells tinkling in the air. “My name is Delilah. I’m a special advisor to the Luna Regent and the Goddess Foundation. I was the one who pulled the poison from your system after your brother attacked you.” “Oh, well then. I, uh, I owe you my life. Thank you.” I want to bow my head, but I can’t bring myself to look away from her eyes, which seem to have changed color to a lighter shade of blue.

“Because I hope that I will have grounds to fire her soon or that she will quit.” “That bad? How long has she been in the position?” I asked. “Four years, but between the two of them, I’d much rather keep the other woman who’s been doing it two years.” “Other woman?” I asked, then paused as the way he worded it clicked. “Wait, it’s a partnered position?” “Don’t worry. Delilah works very hard and is very dedicated to her job.” Delilah? What kind of name was that? How old was she? The name alone sounded ancient, especially since she was obviously born before the song that made it a popular name again. Grace once had it on her list of names for girls, along with a hundred others.

Delilah's POV: I ran to the shed near the gate, shifted, and grabbed a pair of jeans and a shirt from the drawer. Putting on the clothes, I went back to Antonio, "I am Delilah." His teeth bared at me, "I know very well who you are. Answer my question now." I was running out of time. I swallowed and tried to move past him toward the door. A hand clasped around my upper arm and jerked me back, "I am expecting an explanation, girl."

“And I MISSED IT?!” “Girl it was glorious!” Mariah exclaimed. “Delilah was forced to admit everything! And when she was in the middle of telling us who all she slept with Kelly jumped her!” “Kelly?! "A lady is at the main entrance. She's not part of the guests; I guess she came in today, and she insisted on seeing Beta Caleb." "A lady?" I repeated, my interest piqued.
