*Prologue*

Delilah had fallen asleep soon after Dallin filled her in his arms. His strong arms had a nice secure feeling to them. Whenever he would hold her in his muscular arms very gently, she felt like no harm could come her way.

As she peacefully dreamt about humanly things, Dallin felt his muscles tightening, which made him wake up in the middle of the night.

Delilah turned aside and just like that she had rolled over in the bed to the other side.

Dallin watched her moving away in her sleep and he couldn't help but notice something on her back.

A little furrow to his brows emerged at the sight of a peculiar blemish on her back.

There was something about that mark that made Dallin gently push the blanket off her back to examine it.

It was an interesting mark, seemed like words were engraved in her skin. He pulled away from her and scratched the back of his neck in utter confusion and interest. Bringing the blanket over her body again just when he decided to rest, his bones became to crackle again.

"Argh!" he groaned in his mouth, quickly watched the sleeping beauty in the bed with him to make sure he hadn't woken her up. It was this time of the month. He couldn't believe he had forgotten about this. Since Delilah was only a wolf, she doesn't have to worry about it, Dallin thought.

For him, whether it was a blessing or a curse, he has to go into a painful transformation every month because of being a hybrid.

Not wanting to disturb her sleep, he sneaked out of the bed in his shorts to his basement.

His hybrid form was more powerful than any weapon combined and he was aware of the outcomes the human could bear if he was to be unleashed into the world in this form.

Dallin chained himself in the basement with the silver chains that were drenched in a powerful spell to keep him locked until his hybrid form washed off.

Now that he was confined to the basement only, he was ready for the painful transformation.

From a pleasant night with Delilah to an intolerable painful transformation, Dallin's life indeed took a turn in haste.

His muscles twitched as his body started to transition into his hybrid form. His muscles stiffened, making him close his eyes and be ready to undergo unbearable pain.

He bit his lower lip to prevent howling as one by one his bones twisted till he heard loud cracks of his bones breaking.

While Dallin was in the basement, dealing with immense pain, Delilah was jolted awake to the wind buzzing on the window from the storm. She stared blankly at the window with her mind dazed up and then a thunderclap jerked her completely awake to her surroundings.

She looked behind in bed for Dallin and found him gone. Her eyes then traveled to the bathroom that had all the lights out.

Though there could be various reasons Dallin had left her in his room in the wee hours, but something inside her told her to go fetch him up.

She walked out of the bed, her eyes quickly looking for any clothes to wrap around her body. His shirt was the only piece of cloth that interested her. She picked up his shirt and smiled weakly, the shirt was hardly going to fit her. Struggling to button up the shirt, she left it open after successfully buttoning up only one button. Once done with that, she left the room in search of Dallin.

The moment she left the room, she heard the villa filled with a howl. Her body felt a weird fear in the air, not knowing what was happening, the first thing her mind come up with was where was Dallin.

She knew something was in the mansion, her heart flipped every time she heard weird noises coming from the basement.

"Dallin?" she whispered, peeking through the hallway before she slowly walked down the stairs to the basement.

She feared for Dallin's safety, whatever was in the mansion, wasn't human for sure.

With every step to the basement, her heart missed a beat. She felt like numerous needles were itching through her throat as she fought to gulp her own saliva.

She was now standing in the basement, across from the silver bars. Her mind ceased to process what she was watching.

There was a prison built in the basement, if this had not baffled her, the next thing that appeared before her sight shook her heart to stop.

It was Dallin the midway of his transition. Delilah took a step back once the sight terrified her whole existence. She couldn't believe her eyes, and she wasn't the one to be blamed for it.

Right before her eyes was the man she loved and trusted, turning into a beast.

Every time he growled at the cracking of his bones, Delilah felt her heart pounding even louder.

This was horrendous!

What was he? Who was he?

Why didn't he tell her his truth?

Was he a werewolf?

Her mind drowned her in countless queries. She was just a naive, shy, fragile human girl, this sight was a lot for her.

And before she could respond, Dallin sniffed someone's presence. Dallin turned his body to acknowledge Delilah standing across from him. He tried to force a smile onto his lips through the painful transition, but he didn't know the girl he loved was just an ordinary human and this sight was new to her. Dallin forced his body up to be able to stand on his foot, he thought together they could fight the pain. In his mind, Delilah was here to help him through the transition; how sweet! but that wasn't the truth, she was terrified of him.

Dallin took a step closer to her in thoughts of having his skin brushed against her, which will ease up his pain, but only to see the fear in Delilah's eyes. She was watching him with the eyes a kid would watch a monster in his closet.

The fear in her eyes made him step back a little.

"Deeeeelaylah!" he grunted, his body started to cover in hair.

Delilah saw the whole thing happening and as Dallin's bone snapped, Delilah threw up on the floor.

She was disgusted by his presence. Dallin forgot about the pain for a moment as the pain of a broken heart surpassed every feeling.

Being a human girl, Delilah never thought werewolves existed, she was petrified and in the shock of what she had just seen, she sprinted away from her Dallin.

Dallin stood there in pain, watching the love of his life disgusted by his presence, he was baffled. Till now, Dallin thought she was a werewolf too, he thought she knew about him, but then why was she disgusted?

A tear rolled down from his eyes, the rejection from his true love and disgust she showed towards him killed the little humanity inside him.

He clenched his jaw and waited for the Hybrid form to take over while his body went through the extreme pain.

He was not going to let her leave so easily; she has to answer him for breaking his heart and rejecting him.
