TWO WEEKS LATER With the conference gone and assuming my pack as the Alpha being the only important thing left, my mind returns back to Chloe whose brake light I haven't seen, I haven't even seen someone that has seen her, even though we haven't met, I know she is planning evil wherever she is.

Only scattered beams of flashlights cut through the black, moving like searching eyes across steel containers and shattered glass. The sound of boots echoed, controlled and coordinated. Whoever had arrived was not improvising. They owned the chaos. Elara felt Aiden’s hand tighten around hers. “Stay close,” he whispered. Her brother leaned heavily against her shoulder, barely steady. Somewhere nearby, men shouted orders in unfamiliar accents. Metal scraped. Weapons clicked into place. The symbol on their uniforms burned into Aiden’s memory.

We stood back-to-back, steel and will radiating outward. The rogue hounds surged—runners, chargers, weapon-wielding wolves. We fought—not for politics, but for us. I cut them back, shield aligned with Reya’s steel. She responded with rune-thrusts, moon-steels gleaming. Pearl and Luis emerged……knowing our code, our heart. With runic chants, they formed wards. Enemies faltered at the runic dome’s edge. We held them at bay—not defeat—but a promise set in stone.

The masked warrior shrieked as the magic collapsed, falling limp. “Break the runes first!” she ordered. “Then strike!” The team adjusted quickly, turning the tide. Runes glowed on foreheads, necks, and armor—each one needing to be broken before any fatal blow would land. Aria ducked, spun, and landed a brutal knee to her enemy’s chest, then shattered a rune on their neck with her blade’s hilt. Smoke filled the chamber. Screams and steel clashed. And then… silence. Only six enemies remained. Surrounded, panting, cornered.

“He probably wants another round. I could go over and punch him.” “Or he’s obsessed, with his hatred ” Oliver said, smirking. “You sure he’s not planning evil?” Austin rolled his eyes. “Can we talk about something else?” Meanwhile, at the other end of the hall, Brian’s own friends were watching. Matteo sat opposite them while James sat beside Brian. James leaned in. “Well well two enemies working together” Brian snickered “You are one to talk, weren’t you paired with Benjamin?” James laughed “Come on buddy, I am not enemies with Austin’s friends”

One of their wolves—a Shadowfang scout—howled in pain, dragged down by two enemies. Ronan’s growl answered, low and lethal. It wasn’t a sound meant to be heard. It was meant to be felt. Kaela turned mid-step, caught the second scout by the throat. He shifted as he fell, a flash of fur and rage, but she was already on him. Her wolf surged—white-hot, furious—and ended it fast. Her claws found the soft spot at his neck and didn’t hesitate. Another enemy ran. Ronan chased. The world blurred around her. Claws. Teeth. Screams muffled by trees. Dirt kicked up. The ground slippery with blood and wet leaves.

The one thing they all had was the deep red glowing eyes that seemed to penetrate into your soul. We are now looking at six separate enemies. They all charge at the same time, with a battle cry that would have stopped my heart without the help of Selene and Niobe. “Hold steady. Remember your strengths.” “We’re all here! Oh, s**t!” My dad shouts. “Dad, you and the other former alphas need to take control of the rogues trying to take over the pack house. This just got so much worse.” I mindlink him.

Derek spoke as he waved over two of the other watchmen. As they got out of view with Bryce, that's when the enemy showed themselves. Two massive wolves came out of nowhere. One was grey and one was light brown. They were growling and baring their teeth. I looked over to Matteo who's face had a look of horror across it. "It's the Dark Moon Park." Alpha Bradley spoke quietly. He then looked over to Matteo and I. "Run!" We didn't hesitate as we took off running. The two wolves were following behind us. "We have to split up!" I spoke to Matteo using our mind link.

If Spencer found out Ruby was dead, his scouts would descend on this hospital within hours.
