I replied, feigning innocence with a playful smile.
Before he could respond, Shaelith and Seraphira stepped forward, each holding a bouquet.
Shaelith had chosen skeleton flowers, delicate, almost translucent blooms that glistened. Seraphira held a radiant bunch of sunflowers, bright and full of cheer. So typical of them.
“Thank you for always buying us gifts,” Seraphira said.
“And for being the coolest uncle,” Shaelith added.
“Stop it, you're going to make me cry,” Draven said, his voice thick with emotion as he knelt to embrace them.
