SHADOW OF THE PAST: THE CURSED ALPHA
I took a deep breath before going back to where the demon beast and the dragon beast were arguing.
“Finally,” a sly voice purred.
The demon beast emerged first, slinking from the shadows like a cat that knew too much. Its form was small, a fox-like creature with velvety black fur, bat wings that twitched impatiently, and eyes that glowed a wicked red.
With a flutter, it landed on my shoulder, curling its tail around my neck like a scarf.
“You kept me waiting. You should know better than to keep me waiting,” it said, fangs flashing in a grin.
