I would cry and drift back to the corner of my room, curling myself into a ball. I felt so pathetic. Why weren't Mom and Dad back yet? Where did they go? Did they forget about me? Finally, on the evening of the third day, I heard the familiar hum of an engine from downstairs. It was Dad's car!
