My mother rubbed her palms together and asked her for mercy. Douglas yelled at her, interjecting our plea. Douglas was once a member of the vegetative pack before his parents were killed by my father. Ever since then, he moved out of the vegetative pack to the North were he struggled to meet up with his needs, gathered rogue members like him, and had made promise to come back someday and take a brutal revenge. Cena, Jason, and Jeremy ran up to where we were. " What's happening here? This dude has been killed?" Jeremy asked as he saw the guy on mask laying dead on the floor.

I asked, my eyebrows furrowed. Don Morano shifted on his chair. “What you're feeling is a normal thing for anyone in your position. I myself felt the same way when I was declared as the Don.” he said and I nodded as he spoke. “Your father, may his soul rest in perfect peace, left a great legacy that seemed very difficult to uphold. Even with his short while as Don, he made the underworld tremble at the mention of the name Morano. That seemed terrifying, even for me.” He continued.

I just finished reading the last book when I started to write Descent for real! The title when this was still a draft was actually ‘Can’t Help Falling (In Love With You)’ because I was listening to the same song only the dark version at the time. But I got annoyed because I felt it was too freaking long to be a title. For a time, I settled calling the story "Fall from Grace" in my head but it still felt wrong... so when I searched for a synonym, the meaning of the word descent.. clicked; it feels like it perfectly sums up the entire plot.

Doug suddenly asked excitedly, "Quickly! Who is it?" "Winston Jovy!" "How can it be him? He's the great-grandson of Pernier's Hector Jovy, a dignified and righteous practitioner, but he's practicing evil techniques?" Doug was furious when he learned the truth and started to grind his teeth. "He even harmed my daughter. I must get my revenge!" Doug looked at the giant python beside him and said, "Lord Fifth, there's no need to hold back at this point!" The giant python stared at Doug and spat out something as if it agreed with Doug's decision.

I softly said. "You're okay. You're okay. I'm so sorry" I stretched my hands for hers as i stared through my tearful eyes. "Me too" I recognized Douglas' voice before i smiled. "I'm sorry but I ain't dying anytime soon" He joked as he exhaled a deep sigh. "Pa Doug" I called with a grin. "Where were you?" I asked. "I took them out to a restaurant to celebrate that i won the case only to see a house on fire in the news-"

“Chad, how’s it going with the person I’ve asked you to send over here? Where is he?” “Doug’s on his way. I’ve just given him a phone call. He says that he’s arriving at the train station soon…” “Doug!?” Javier’s mind was instantly flooded with events from last year when Chad mentioned this name. At that time, he had used Doug and had gotten both Zayn and the Dunhams in deep sh*t. After staying overseas for a year, the Dunhams were finished long ago, so it was about time Doug made his return.

His voice was calm, controlled. A low chuckle came through the line. “Come on, Uncle Ben, is that any way to greet family?” Jake’s tone was laced with amusement, but there was an underlying menace in his voice. “You two are really making the Yeager family proud…” Damien did not let them pass. He taunted the couple mercilessly. The scene drew the attention of the guests. “Look! It’s the Yeager family’s second daughter and the surviving descendant of the Fox family. I heard they were kicked out of the Yeager family, and now, they’re here trying to join Terry Yeager’s birthday celebration,” someone said and pointed toward them.

The enchantress announced before giving Alpha Romero a meaningful glance. The leader of the pack nodded while his wife, Calliope gently and assuringly squeezed on his arms before letting him walk away to present himself in the middle of the crowd. “With that being said, I, Alpha Romero Muller, leader of the Crescent Walkers announces my plans of carrying out my legacy towards my first born son, Morgan Muller.” Morgan’s eyes widened in disbelief as he heard the news straight from his father’s lips.
