Descendants Recap Novels & Stories

The first time a living being heard the walls speak, they didn't understand what had happened. Kael was there when it occurred—a young descendant named Vera, barely twenty cycles old, who had been sent to maintain the memorial node in the eastern reaches. She had been cleaning the inscription panels, her work routine and unremarkable, when suddenly she dropped her tools and sat down heavily on the stone floor. When Kael reached her, she was trembling, tears streaming down her face, but her expression held something closer to revelation than pain.

The little girl screamed after her, reaching out her tiny hand as uncontrollable tears rolled down her face. "Mom! Dad! Vernon!" In response, the fire only roared louder, lighting up the sky. ~~~ The memory faded, but the pain didn't. Back in the present, Calla gasped, her chest rising and falling fast. Tears streamed down the side of her face uncontrollably as her throat tightened with silent sobs. That was her memory, the one she had lost for years. Her heart broke all over again as the truth sank in. She was that little girl. And Vernon, the man she had pushed away, the one she thought was just another stranger trying to control her life—was her brother.

Talia asked, a bit of trepidation in her voice. Raina looked over at Talia and then around the room. “We missed that Rebekah’s father was a vampire. Which means that, as red wolves, we aren’t just the descendants of the first red wolf, but we are also descendants from a vampire.” The room was eerily quiet, as if everyone was mulling over the information. I shook my head. There had to be more to this story that was missing. “That can’t possibly be the end of this story. Just being partly descended from a vampire is not enough. What else is going on?” I asked, a chill running through me as I spoke. Duncan seemed to notice and placed his hand on my shoulder. I felt Harley move closer as well.

The first sentence is: "I indeed was your descendant, in the far future after many years." Craig's hand, which was originally holding a cup of tea, suddenly stopped, and his eyes instantly burst with a sense of oppression. "Miss, do you know what you're talking about?" "I know, it's hard to believe," Amelia said, taking out a phone from her black bag and opening the screen. Inside was a mundane video. "I come from a hundred years in the future, I am a descendant of the Cromwell family." Craig looked at the new thing, his eyes widening in disbelief.

“The descendants were hidden.” The realization slowly began forming. Draven continued. “They were scattered among ordinary packs.” “No royal titles.” “No special recognition.” “No obvious signs.” “Generation after generation.” “So no enemy could destroy them.” Aria’s pulse quickened. She already knew where this conversation was heading. Yet part of her desperately hoped she was wrong. “You’re saying her descendants survived?” Draven looked directly at her. “Yes.” The word echoed through the chamber. Simple. Certain. Terrifying. Silence followed.
